Tonight I had a choice to make... Attend the local Town board meeting or throw the kayak in the lake. I chose wisely. #wisconsin

Ew.
The only thing splashing down here are my least favorite Canadian export... The geese.
I was out in my kayak just in case Artemis overshot and splashed down in my WI lake, needing assistance. ;-) Pontoon brigade could be activated, no promises on if they are sober.
Pernille Ripp so often writes about the act of teaching reading with such care and thoughtfulness - this is yet another example - "Every platform is designed to want something from you. Reading wants nothing. It just waits." pernillesripp.com/2026/04/03/r... #edusky
6th grade. Mrs. Traczek ... Who was the most stoic, unflappable teacher I ever knew, cried. It was shocking. I didn't watch live, this time. Oof.
Insult meet injury. Deep breath.
I had a visceral reaction just reading those words. Deep breath. Oof.
What continues to baffle me is that I have no recollection of how I got those books or where they went... But I read them all. The 80s man.
Yikes.
I often can only read what happens in these kinds of hearings. It takes too much out of me to do anything else that day. Ugh.
I think there's a number of interesting bits to think about in here both for students and humans in general... www.kqed.org/mindshift/66... #edusky
It has been a very long time since I've led a teacher team in a conference presentation. Thrilled to have the financial support from Teaching with Primary Sources - Midwest to present alongside 3 teachers that participated in our K-5 Literacy/SS grant. What a delight! #sschat #WCSS26
Yes
Here in Wisco, a possible could only happen here situation, but a popular local comedian has brought his following to the data center fight in Port Washington (on the shore of Lake Michigan) & I think it's one of the more unique movements I've seen here. Ex. www.youtube.com/shorts/DyXs5...
I was just thinking about this the other day... #sschat
I wasn't ignoring you... but diigo decided to die after 15 years. It was a nail biter to get my 18 years of data out of there. Hope your event went smoothly!
So. Much. Winning.
Preach.
I've got some things tucked away in my diigo, I'll DM you a link in case anything seems relevant
that was meant to read - all intelligence says no. Blerg.
This admin wants you to forget about anything historic - everything is better now, b/c as far as they're concerned, the only thing from before was other people's failure. Iran is about to bomb the US w/ nukes-all intelligence. Trump still projects that picture as if it's fact. Wild.
I saw that yesterday and was like... is AI also their quality control, because - Just, no.

Today I presented at #WEMTA about the TPS-Midwest grant that I did in my local area. Presenting in WI: 10 people in the audience knew a Laufenberg. I was able to include pictures from the WI Hist. Soc. of a 4 generations photo of my Gram & a studio photo of my 3x Great Grandpa titled 'Men with Beer'
A big audience for Author V.T. Bidania (www.vtbidania.com) here at #WEMTA. She's talking about the importance of representation in children's books and sharing lovely stories and how they've impacted kids.
Right?!? I'm back presenting this year and thought you would appreciate this.
Attention @technolibrary.bsky.social
Yikes, indeed.
Oof
