Who at the IRS decided to SCHEDULE MAINTENANCE for 11:45pm on TAX DAY?

And how much of a kickback are they getting from that third-party credit card processor?

Email screenshot of Brian’s response clarifying that Safe Braddock Road project is for kids cycling to school and commuters heading to metro. States the goal is creating a safe neighborhood street for residents, emphasizing this is not about recreational road cyclists.

It’s hard to capture the full beauty of the 37-message long thread, but here’s what finally broke me and my response.

The listserv is behaving oddly. I got your email 2 hours ago and just received the email you were replying to.

If any ALX friends haven't submitted a comment to this site yet, please take 2 minutes and do so! It is really helpful to show how many people support the safety improvements

FWIW @alexandriabrief.com it’s working for me on Xfinity. Though I also use my own modem/router.

Thank you for your posts earlier. I also don’t have time for this today, but also couldn’t stop myself after that last comment.

The assumption is that HP fans will subscribe to HBO Max solely for the series, and with 7 books/seasons that’s a lot of revenue. The project was conceived before JK went off the deep-end, with the belief that millennials would want to relive HP with their kids.

Meanwhile the RCA listserv is at least a dozen emails deep tonight responding to an email claiming Vision Zero is a top-down plot to ban cars.

Classics friends may enjoy this. Some of the Latin pronunciation is a bit weird, but the essence is spot on! 😆

psst.. the best way for bikes to avoid cars is dedicated bike lanes. 🤫

The people who live in Braddock can drive the exact same roads they do now! They are only losing city subsidized on-street parking!

The audacity of someone to defend their publicly subsidized car storage by calling their neighbors “entitled” for wanting a safe route to school.

You’ve been told that repeatedly in this thread: Braddock is how commuters get to Metro and kids get to school. There are no parallel streets, and proposed “alternatives” are 50% longer. Fixing the intersections will decrease time in traffic. Any “entitlement” is coming from your side of the debate.

Those “militant bikers” are school kids and neighbors commuting to the metro. The project started as a Safe Routes to School recommendation. The whole point is to convert what’s now a high-speed route for non-local drivers into a street that serves the neighborhood instead of cutting through it.

I’ve used HealthyPaws pet insurance for years and highly recommend them.

In what universe is being able to ride a bike a luxury, but driving a car isn’t? Especially with gas over $4/gallon! I live a half block from Braddock, and this will make my neighborhood better, safer, and easier to navigate. For everyone.

There was a time and place for subtlety, and that time was before Scary Movie.

My prayers for healing for this person.

And let's make Braddock safer.

In the interest of “clearing up misinformation” he wrote a paragraph about the impracticality of putting bike lanes on a stretch of road which isn’t even part of the project. This is so exhausting!

Adam means that she is the daughter of immigrants, but it is worth emphasizing that *every* U.S. citizen who has not been naturalized is a birthright citizen, either by the 14th Amendment or by statute.

Are you going? I have my kids tee ball from 5:30 - 6:30 but would come for either the first or last half hour.

It’s sad. I’ve been to RCA happy hours in the past, and I want to go meet my neighbors. But I’m not even sure I’d be welcome.
