CATL claims 6-minute charge and 1,500km range for new electric vehicle batteries Chinese group also slashes charging time in race against BYD for electric vehicle battery supremacy

1500km means you don’t need to charge very often so the charger wouldn’t even need to be at your house. In fact would probably be a waste to pay for one if charge it less than monthly

This is incredible. Absolute game changing compared with what’s been on the market

Awesome. There’s something really uplifting about cheering on people in a marathon

The human achievement across so many different runners, all with their individual goals, whether that be a time or just getting round. It makes me quite emotional!

Yeah at first I assumed it was vs GDP in a Buffet indicator kind of way - and which we can still debate the appropriateness of

But this is next level

This will be 1 year 17 days after my ACL surgery. Who knows if I’m being optimistic or realistic

But initial prognosis v.good. Surgeon said I’m comfortably exceeding all the week 6 benchmarks after only 3 weeks

Good to have something to aim for. Predicted time for the application form 🤷‍♂️

Definitely not!

Very good point on younger people often having money earmarked for something big within 5yrs (I’ve experienced this personally) which constrains ability to think long term

The big thing they have in their favour is future earnings capacity. Can think of that income stream as a bit like a bond

Yeah it was similar (which is also what a scammer would do), can’t recall what it was exactly and the account isn’t visible anymore

Why do Brits not invest? Because there’s a massive expectations-reality gap (from today’s Times)

I believe the way we talk about risk is all wrong - as I argue strongly in the article in my post below

Actually in my case it was definitely a fake account

@iankmsmith.ft.com found it and shared it with me. I could see all the reposts. Have reported it and it’s been shut down

18 hours ago 0 0 2 0

They reposted loads of my posts, which filled their timeline with my legitimate posts

Maybe hoping people wouldn’t spot they were all reposts, or they would but would just think I was trying to get more attention for my old posts

We had special glass bowls for it. The kind you’d get prawn cocktail in

Made it feel like a fancy desert ❤️

Was someone pretending to me, I guess trying to give their feed an air of legitimacy by having all my posts on it

Reported it

Looks like it’s someone impersonating me. Thanks to @iankmsmith.ft.com for flagging

Weird fake account tactic as it drew my attention to them immediately

Bluesky notifications suggest I’ve reposted about 30 of my own posts. I haven’t, not knowingly anyway

Has this appeared on people’s feeds?

Also, if you’re travelling solo, paying £7 for fastrack if things get hairy is a minor inconvenience but it gets a bit more annoying with a family of 4

And there’s no way I’m getting up one minute earlier than necessary at that time of the morning

For me it depends on time of day and whether my kids are with me

I can get up at 04.55, leave house 05.25, arrive airport 06.00, be on the 07.00 flight to London for work

I’d have to be some kind of psycho to cut it that fine with kids tho. Their anxiety let alone the risk wouldn’t be worth it

Clarity: ragnarok is next up, not yet watched, I just haven’t enjoyed any other one with Thor in it

But that is interesting that my opinions seem to diverge so much from the masses (at the time)

Really didn’t enjoy age of ultron either

Maybe I’m just a grumpy middle aged man shouting at a cloud

2 days ago 0 0 1 0

Didn’t watch them at the time but working through them with my son now and so many of them are just average IMO

Don’t like any of the Thor or captain America themed ones and feel like there’s a lot of those (we’re up to ragnarok)

Guardians are my highlights, mainly for the tunes and acerbic banter

I’m crocked right, can’t drive, wanted to go to gym to use the arm bike

Option A: walk 23 mins (nope)
Option B: get bus + 14 min walk from bus stop
Option C: pay £8 for uber

Had such a strong reaction against paying for Uber but in finish up was like, Duncan, why are you even thinking about this?

Burgers and pizza ok, everything else not ok is my experience

But I don’t often crave a burger so that leaves pizza.

But even then I’d rather order from the Italian down the road and walk to collect it with an excuse for a pint from the pub next door

Absolutely insane numbers on data center buildout. I haven’t vetted these by they’re about right based on memory/back of the envelope.
