Hey! Hard same. Hard same.

Hard same. 😅
I don't know if the Love Boat karaoke backing will get copyright stricken but as far as my end is concerned it's a big Hell Yes 😃
You'll need to excuse my complete lack of a singing voice - I wanted to make a parody song for @trangirlismo.bsky.social and no power on Earth could stop me.
Chat, is it bad if your therapist has to remind you that "we didn't start a nuclear war after all" can't really be characterized as "a good thing about this week"?
Gonna tell my kids this was Fast Ampersand Furious

folks, it's bad when the plane does that
I listened to the first episode of this and it is every bit as spectacular as the name would suggest
Picking this up as soon as it's available!
A cool thing my sibling did! 🏳️⚧️
Life be like 😭
P.S. The original poster just got laid off with no notice. If all the horror story replies gave you a laugh, consider dropping a couple bucks into the fundraiser! (If you have the means right now ♥️)

An absolute treasure, this cat 😍
I continue to be glad that I have my senators on speed-dial.
Actually reached a human being today instead of a voicemail. Was told they're getting a lot of calls supporting trans rights. Glad to hear it.
✨Let's give them some more calls.✨
The decision to put my senators' DC office numbers on speed dial continues to pay off. 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️

A thing I worked on this year that I can actually show off 😀

A screenshot of a Tumblr conversation. The user sirobvious writes: “Avoid video games that use extrinsic motivation. A video game should at least mostly rely on intrinsic motivation, meaning that the playing of the game itself is the fun part, not the reward you get for playing the game. If you don't enjoy the gameplay, but you want to earn lootboxes, you've fallen into the intentionally exploitative system operating within so many games nowadays, and you need to find another game, because you're not having fun. It doesn't sound serious, but this kind of thing can make depression way worse if you've already got depression." The user smitethepatriarchy replies: “This post got me to stop playing Overwatch and I'm eternally grateful.”

Long ago, at a company that no longer exists, I heard someone say our games needed to get better at "driving the compulsion loop."
And, I mean, no disrespect toward that person - our studio was struggling to survive at that point.
But I did think to myself: "Wow. Is that what we want?" 😐
I feel lucky that this was my introduction to games. It usually wasn't glamorous, but I got to work on lots of different projects and meet tons of neat people, some of which are still close friends to this day ♥️
Real talk: I got my start in the game industry working on little handheld movie tie-ins!
They can absolutely be good games if 1) the dev team has the skill/resources/motivation make them good and 2) the client/managers grant that team the time/budget/leeway to make the game good.
Calling my credit card company to ask why they're destabilizing the industry I work in (and thus threatening the cash flow that funds every transaction I make with them) was not on my bucket list, but here we are.
We had a long, polite, cordial chat. I plan to have more.
I hope the author gets a chance to visit Greece, NY someday. You know, to see the Parthenon.

I'm several months late to the "four games I've worked on" party, but I'm doing it anyway! 🎮
