Husband and I always say that the best gateway country for Asia virgins is Japan, as it's the most orderly, easy to get by in, etc. But I guess that depends on what sort of holiday you like. A beach resort will probably always be chill and easy (but we don't do that, lol).

Was only in Bangkok for a few days and even that was better than I expected. Definitely worth going, IMO, would love to see more someday.
