lol this has been my life for the past 20 years at analytic (and contemplative Christian) events and I’ve always hated it and now I’m dreading it coming to an end 😬😂

Yeah this is it. I wanted to say Sunday in the Park, but that’s more a personal favorite. Sweeney’s construction is virtually flawless as a stage musical, hence the greatest.

For me, embodiment involves a mutual, multidirectional engagement between mind and body.

Not sure if that’s similar to how you see it, but curious to hear.

I tend to think that in order to really be/act “different,” we have to be able to truly think (i.e., use reflective function), which can only be done when not in a bodily state of panic/overwhelm. Regulating bodily tension leads to accessing bodily affects in service of new thinking/doing.

The evidence is unambiguous with multiple independent women describing the same patterns of behavior with corroborating documents.

Either you think CNN is lying about the evidence it reviewed, or you think multiple sexual assaults don’t warrant immediate resignation.

It’s very telling to see Newsom and Jeffries call for further investigation and not immediately tell him to drop out.

World peace might also be accomplished via a revival of Follies with Audra playing Phyllis (and Steven Pasquale as Ben).

I woke up this morning anguishing, wondering when will we ever get what is needed for world peace.

(a revival of ALNM starring Audra)

Ugh, I'm very sorry to report that I keep thinking about this mnemonic device for remembering the meaning of concave and then associating to a similar mnemonic device for anaclitic based on the description of it as a "girl depression"... 😳😅

@julianastratton.bsky.social gets it and has my full support.

@danielbiss.bsky.social isn't there yet, but I'm hopeful he can get there. Support a change in leadership and advocate for a progressive leader to replace Jeffries! It will go a long way to earn the trust of young progressives in IL-09.

My primary litmus test for 2026 and 2028 is an unwavering commitment to tossing Schumer, Jeffries, and those aligned with their corrupt, incompetent politics out of leadership.

I‘m solidly in both of these eras.

Ahh thank you for this! If only all my analytic confusions could be so clearly addressed in 3 tweets!

lol I’m with GVD, I can never remember what anaclitic actually means and at this this point, maybe I just don’t want to 🤷‍♂️😅

This is indeed a hot take for many and that makes me so sad 😭

Barack Obama doesn’t think there is any political event that requires an immediate response (he took days to post about both Renee Good and Alex Pretti) but you will never see him let 12 hours pass without congratulating a sports team winning a championship. He clearly sees it as his essential duty.

Impeachment and removal needs to be the near-term objective.

But more immediately, Democrats need to be screaming from the rooftops that ANYONE who participates in executing these war crimes WILL be prosecuted AND that military members who refuse to follow his commands will be protected & honored.

Like if you mentioned "dissociated self states" to this psychiatrist, maybe they'd feign understanding and reduce it to the popular (and probably over/mis-used) idea of "alters," but I bet they wouldn't have a fucking clue about the conceptual richness of what you're referencing.

The problem, IMO, is that too many therapists (and the public in general) can only think/talk about dissociation through the lens of DID (or acute trauma). And the DSM's DID only covers a sliver of dissociative presentations, so we end up with psychiatrists making these dumb absolutist claims.

💯

These arguments against universal programs are an argument FOR class-based segregation.

These arguments heighten class divisions; universal programs weaken class divisions. And many rich people are very invested in maintaining class divisions.

I still remember watching the DVD of this for the first time when I was 15 years old, knowing nothing about it before pressing play. Not an exaggeration to say it changed my life.

My god…

So much to say about this, but the main thing that occurs to me right now is how little regard our country has for the human rights of children.

We don't need to be like them and resort to executions, but when they're out of power one day, this sort of statement should be embraced as unambiguous justification to put these liars in prison for the rest of their lives.

lol fair enough.

And to @jogil.bsky.social’s point, analysts don’t even have universal agreement on what is meant by the term sexuality, much less what it means for an infant to have a sexual life. We’re endlessly ensnared by our nuanced differences, for better and worse 😬😅

Sexuality begins in infancy.

Let’s talk reality. A Jewish baby born today in a West Bank community will have full rights in Israel, a vote in national elections, and access to civilian courts; a Palestinian baby born in that same community will have no democratic rights, tight restrictions on their movement, frequent harassment from settlers, and no access to justice beyond what Israel’s unaccountable military courts mete out. That’s apartheid.

It's like the campaign asked ChatGPT for a progressive policy strategy to improve rural healthcare.

These posts of yours make me want to move to Hyde Park purely for the superior little free libraries. The ones around me are filled with cookbooks and other things I have zero interest in 😅

The omission of “nights” here was definitely my mistake 😂
