More people are walking and cycling as fuel costs rise, but women risk greater social exclusion without affordable alternatives Rising fuel costs due to the war in Iran have led more UK drivers to walk or cycle, but Cycling UK warns that without affordable options, the shift could leave many, particularly women, increasingly…

At a time of rising #PetrolPrices, a failure of our politicians to provide adequate #ActiveTravel infrastructure risks disproportionately isolating women, who are more likely to be put off cycling by a lack of safe infrastructure #MyRideOurRight @cyclinguk.bsky.social

A city with less motor traffic works better for everyone. Safer cycling, easier access for people with mobility issues, more space for people on foot, quieter neighbourhoods for residents, and thriving local businesses. This is what streets look like when they’re designed for people, not just cars.

CBC investigation finds grocers Loblaw, Sobeys overcharging for underweight meat — again | CBC News A CBC News secret shopping investigation has — once again — uncovered how several Loblaw-owned and Sobeys-affiliated stores are overcharging for underweight meat, despite claims last year that the gro...

Grocery giants just can’t help themselves.

Underweight meat. Overweight profits.

Canadians are sick and tired of being ripped off.

A public option for groceries is overdue.

Heat pumps are the most efficient heating technology ever invented.

They harvest and compress pre existing heat in the air, ground or water and transport it where it is needed.

That energy is all around us.

And it does not have to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

The soulless, sociopathic orange cunt stands in his suit looking bored and devoid of intelligent thought whilst an Oval Office guest is collapsed on the ground behind him. Fellow guests, able to demonstrate more compassion than the pedo protector has ever mustered in his entire miserable existence, are helping the collapsed man. The photo captures the insipid, disdain Trump holds for any other human being not permanently kissing his fat, wrinkly ass. At least today is one day closer to his death.

Congratulations to photographer Andrew Harnik who has won the White House Correspondents’ Association award for presidential news coverage with one of the greatest Oval Office photos ever captured.

Having a second child was what really got me thinking about doing things differently.
With the first, I was stuck in traffic doing school run/ long commute etc.

It was 11 yrs before my 2nd arrived & I wanted different for her. Got me to researching walkable neighborhoods which led to cargo bikes!

There will never be enough victim-blaming to make up for poor infrastructure and missing leadership. But it sure makes a nice distraction for decision-makers hiding from responsibility, right?

If we want our cities to be resilient we better work hard to ensure folks have the option to get around without needing a personal vehicle.

Too big for Europe: America's pickup trucks became a trade war flashpoint - EUROPE SAYS America loves its pickup trucks. The Ford F-150, the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, the Ram 1500: these are not merely vehicles. They are cultural monuments on

The European Union is tightening the regulatory backdoor through which US automakers have been quietly importing around 7k large SUVs and pickup trucks/year. “The revised rules, expected to launch in 2027, are designed to close loopholes that Brussels says allow unsafe vehicles onto European roads.”
