The Origin of Student Debt: Reagan Adviser Warned Free College Would Create a Dangerous "Educated Proletariat” In 1970, Roger Freeman, who also worked for Nixon, revealed the right’s motivation for coming decades of attacks on higher education.

And now our systematic dumbing down and culture of anti-intellectualism has created the perfect conditions for where we are today.

Thanks Roger Freeman

Isaiah Stewart is the next great Detroit Pistons playoff enforcer The Detroit Pistons’ miraculous turnaround predates their head coach, front office and the majority of the roster. But not Isaiah Stewart.

The Pistons’ turnaround predates their head coach, front office and most of the roster – including No. 1 pick Cade Cunningham.

It started six years ago with a draft night gamble that produced their longest-tenured player – and next great enforcer.

Baltimore is not playing around with their street art. Straight to the point.

B-more is not a game. Don't play with that city, remember...Tupac's mom left Baltimore for the projects...for a better life.

if you are wondering "but what is it good for then and why are companies pushing it so hard"

the answers are "it is good for centralizing power and rationalizing harm"

and "because it is good for centralizing power and rationalizing harm"

You have more in common with the people of Iran than you do with anyone in this administration, any member of the technocracy, anyone who is profiting from this war, or any billionaire. When you see Iranians forming human chains outside key infrastructure sites, you should feel a sense of kinship.

NOW: B52 bombers are literally in the air on their way to Iran and hundreds of thousands of Iranians are in the streets waving flags and surrounding bridges & power plants.

Difficult to imagine this has any precedent in modern warfare.

More evidence B-schools are merely a way to legitimate/promote the pursuit of profit as a "career." They teach, they attract big bucks, they enable networking...but they DO NOT EDUCATE

Honestly floored by the claim that this is a way to talk to the past. But what do I know. I'm just a historian

Perfect illustration of the problem of being asked to have full-spectrum viewpoint diversity that incorporates every & any claim as a valid part of serious academic debate. We can either do that, or we can be actual scholars/universities. Some things are just lies & detached from empirical reality.

Israel used white phosphorus to scorch earth in south Lebanon, researcher says Human Rights Watch and others say they have documented use of weapon in civilian areas during war on Gaza

When bad-faith actors claim that it's antisemitic to criticize the Israeli government, they are implicitly connecting Jewish people worldwide to war crimes like this

How J.B. Bickerstaff turned Pistons from worst to 1st in stunning speed J.B. Bickerstaff took over a 14-68 team. Detroit Pistons players explain what he did to bring change and winning quicker than anyone imagined.

JB Bickerstaff, according to his players, is a "normal guy," who "happens to be a coach." He's "like an uncle." He treats them like family. He wants to have fun.

The coach of the year candidate has turned the Pistons into a contender by being himself.

I was not surprised to learn that I Georgetown, like most American colleges and universities, has succumbed to the pressure to appear part of the “AI” in-crowd (and to the temptation of the resources being made available to those in that crowd). But even though everything I have done in my professional life has been in some way based on the expectation that institutions will tend towards corruption, corrosion and capture, when I think about what this particular instance of that phenomenon signifies for you, the students of Georgetown, I feel very sad and angry. And I decided that the best thing to do with that sadness and anger would be to write to you all directly about why this decision by your university, which may seem on the surface to be an example of garden variety corporate thoughtlessness, should disturb you deeply, and provoke you to fight back.

I hear that! Returning to Detroit always feels like a regrounding. Everywhere else feels slightly to very disorienting. But when I am back in the city, I feel like all the parts of me make sense in that place. Happy for you to get to return soon!

Every year it gets just that much harder to not be able to live there. There is nowhere else on Earth that I would rather be than Detroit.

We're at the All-Star break and the Detroit Pistons have the best record in the league. That's pretty awesome.

And to think all that talent sits for a large portion of most games. Takes a selfless person/player to be willing to take the way way back seat and stay ready to step up when it’s your turn. So much admiration and respect for Paul Reed #Piston
