The sportsmanship and joy in the “minor” sports in the Olympics is just life-giving, you know?

Seriously - watching the women’s freestyle big air (or whatever it’s called) is just so joyous. Evertone - winners and non - smiling, hugging, and cheering.

Inject this directly into my veins, please.

The NRA is a gun rights organization the way the Ku Klux Klan is a speech rights organization.

If they are doing this to white people in broad daylight imagine what they are doing to non-white people in detention facilities.

When the NRA finds out that a citizen was shot and killed by Federal troops merely because he was carrying a gun, there is going to be hell to pay. This is the exact scenario they have been warning us about! These are the jack-booted government troops from which we need unfettered liberty!

It’s hard to accurately describe what is happening in Minneapolis without sounding crazy.

Unmarked rental vans all over the city, with people in military gear and no id jumping out of them to take captive anyone who looks nonwhite or who makes political speech they disagree with.

I had that a couple of times while living in Toronto. Brutal beyond words. I remember stepping outside, and not even having that split second reprieve before the pain of the cold hits you — it’s just instantaneous, and overwhelming.

Jack Smith: “The investigation developed proof beyond a reasonable doubt that President Trump engaged in criminal activity — no one should be above the law in this country & the law required he be held to account”

“Abolish ICE” is not a radical position.

Is there a bigger gap between the pleasantness of the name and the taste of a food item than “curd”?

Also a year ago, people were chastising me (and others) for “not giving Trump a chance” before criticizing him.

I’m sure that they’ll admit we were right. Right?

FB reminded me that a year or so ago, people were deriding the anti-Trump protestors for, among other things, wasting their time with “meaningless protests.”

Such a strange stance to take, especially on or around MLK day.

I’m amazed how much attention this fact is not getting. Among other things, ICE’s tactics are a perfect cover for serious abuse by others.

If anyone doubts that we're living in a dictatorship, those doubts can be resolved by accepting that almost all of this ends if Trump croaks. Vance doesn't have the juice to keep any of it up. No one fears him. No one is gonna deny basic reality or put their asses on the line to carry out his will.

This. I am done returning to the status quo of what got us here. I want universal healthcare. I want a maximum wage tied to the minimum wage. I want omnipresent, cheap public transit and walkable neighborhoods. I want Supreme Court and police reform, and I want the rich to pay their fair share.

Not complicated, or difficult

It doesn’t matter how big or rich or prestigious your synagogue is. Your coffee there probably still sucks.

Taunting is not a justification for arbitrary executions. Collective guilt is contrary to the rule of the law. Resisting the state— even if unlawful and prosecutable—doesn’t justify a death sentence. Our colonial ancestors rejected that agents of the state are absolutely immune for their wrongdoing.

The “both siding” of this is as disgusting to me as anything else in this monstrosity.

I have no desire to understand people who are ok with this, or who are ok with the craven politicians who brazenly lie about it.

So, protesting is now a Capital Offense. Got it.
