I agree. Additionally, with Discord, when you first join a new server, there's an enthusiasm to talk and participate that wanes relatively quickly. For very large servers, where conversation happens so quickly, it's hard to become a regular, and easy to become an observer.
But part of that is just a disconnect from people online. I pulled away from others and got used to being apart. Now I don’t know how to join in anymore.
Part of that is a result of my chronic tendonitis moving me from visiting sites on the computer with both hands and a keyboard to browsing them on my iPad with my non-dominant hand. It makes communication harder.
I’ve been thinking about this too. I used use sites like dA to socialize with other artists. Now I use social media for looking at art. Browsing. Consuming.

Cal got that eye injury during the Panic Stories, when she was a normal girl. Becoming immortal didn't cure it -- in fact, it's gotten worse over time. She used to be able to see out of the eye, but now she's blind in it.
I like my gods/immortals not being physically "perfect."
Mild comic spoilers but it's Cal's human form! Gee I wonder if she's about to show up XD
In all of her comic appearances, I had Cal's injured eye covered. This served two purposes: to make Cyrus's mom seem like an ordinary woman, and to suggest that something WAS hidden in the first place.
