Or get an older used Kindle that can be jailbroken to run KOReader & give you way more flexibility.

It’s not a hard process at all (I think it was ten minutes on my secondhand Kindle).

It’s a cheap option that keeps tech out of a landfill but still allows you to nope out of Amazon’s ecosystem.

What?!

I knew that he’s a misogynist, shocked his dog and was Cenk‘s nepo-nephew, but I was unaware of sex abuse allegations against him?

The problem with „throw the bums out“ is that people want to throw out other people’s bums, but not necessarily their own!

The US primary system exists, and it can unseat incumbents (eg. AOC). But younger isn’t necessarily going to win the race if it’s a progressive in a conservative district. 🤷🏻‍♂️

more than anything i suspect if half the funding that went into paying for long-shot election campaigns in red states went into unionization drives, the latter would pay off a lot more than the former

Iranian media published a report about Tehran's approval of a ceasefire, then delete it minutes later.

There are deep divisions inside Iran right now, but the IRGC is running the show and they’re not prepared to concede anything. If anything, they’re doubling down on the current SoH situation.

Hopefully not! My plan was Oktoberfest and the Loop One Festival for biathlon.

And I was planning on Munich in October this year.

Hopefully the miserable little fucker stays there. Maybe he and Orban can share a flat there.

I saw this once (and only once, thank God) in my residency and it was truly awful.

Reading this piece and Roald Dahl’s account of the death of his daughter, Olivia, should be mandatory for any parent considering not vaccinating their child.

And that progress was made in the face of Trump trying to kill it.

Russians slowly figuring out that there are consequences for attacking other nations. 🙄

It will be tough for Trump on this one as I’m not convinced that the people now running Iran are rational actors either.

I honestly can’t figure out how this crisis will break when it’s a dementing Trump versus a bunch of fundamentalist cranks from the Revolutionary Guards. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

I think we need a live tracker for what the current status is on the Strait.

GenX here, and the internet was certainly sold as this incredible tool that would allow us to shop, communicate and collaborate in unheard of ways… in spite of it being hamstrung by dial-up modems and slow connections.

Yet, here we are 30 years later and it truly is indispensable. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The internet certainly was talked about this way. I’m GenX and remember going online before it was cool at a friend’s house. It seemed really impractical and forced, particularly with how dial-up modems were! But it was talked about as an unstoppable force. And it did achieve a lot eventually. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Because Iran had opened it yesterday, right?

At this point, we need a Strait of Hormuz website so we know whether it’s open or closed and which party is responsible. 😐🙄

Crazy if he does it only because he’s got some supporters who might become violently unhinged if he issued Maxwell a pardon.

Good for him but I am tired of learning about all the ways a 41-year-old candidate for U.S. Senate supposedly has a lot more growing and learning to do. Maybe do that before the Senate? And maybe try out a lower office before then?

Or maybe we just watch him blossom into another Sinema/Fetterman.

Yes, but Obama didn’t release anything near that amount of frozen Iranian funds.

JCPOA keeps looking better with every passing day.

Europe has “maybe six weeks or so (of) jet fuel left,” the head of the International Energy Agency said Thursday in a wide-ranging interview, warning of possible flight cancellations “soon” if oil supplies remain blocked by the Iran war.-AP
