Looking back at this, I might’ve misread your post, and was mistaken in thinking you needed me to explain a 51% attack.

I think the real sticking point is that you see no personal value proposition in Bitcoin, and therefore you tend to think of 100% of the energy it consumes to be wasteful expense?

If Bitcoin becomes the dominant currency, a lot will have to have gone ‘right’, including a near-total transition to clean & renewable energy production.

But it would also level the financial playing field. Even if it cost 60% of the world’s energy to make the world a fair place, that sounds cheap.
