Headline: "Scientists discover emperor penguin colony in Antarctica using satellite images"
Yesterday it was cows using tools, today its penguins using satellite imagery.

Beautiful and breathtaking.

I'd love to figure out where this picture was taken. I'm guessing State Fairgrounds near the track.

There will be soil pits and baby cows. We're getting away from what our exec director calls the "Zoom and Gloom." And there's nothing like wide-open spaces to clear the mind, and South Dakota has plenty of those.

My org's agriculture tour of southeastern South Dakota is shaping up to have a really cool agenda. Banquet menu is dynamite and our keynote is fighter pilot Kim "KC" Campbell, who flew an A-10 Thunderbolt that was shot over Baghdad. She's one of the only people to land the plane in manual mode.

After a few lambing seasons of having a majority ram lambs, we have had mostly ewes born this year, which will rejuvenate our Shetland flock.
This ewe lamb was born yesterday to an excellent mother, one of my favorite ewes.

Beautiful Shetland twin ewe lambs born yesterday toward the end of a heavy rainstorm with strong gales.
There was an F-1 tornado that touched down south of us, so we had strong winds and thunderstorms. Fortunately, no damage to our farm. A church neighbor's barns and sheds were destroyed. No one got hurt.
A mouse with a dill pickle, multiple ways to write, and late starts: that's what's encouraging me this week.

Lambing 2025 began today! Olive had twin ewes. She's the kind of ewe that's a content mum.
Let's see what happens with ye olde blog. What winding path shall I tread this time?
