Yes! I watched your video before I placed the bet on this one. So you are at least partially to blame for this purchase. ;) Thanks for putting all the work into restoring and calibrating the thing, super helpful! Hope I manage to follow your instructions and make mine work as well as yours! :)

That’s the plan! 😅

I already downloaded the schematics and service manual and there’s a video on YT about how to calibrate it properly. Should be doable, at least I have high hopes! (And of course I’m aware that it’s kind of obsolete these days but it was too inexpensive and interesting to pass up)… :D

I watched too many Techmoan videos lately and might have acquired an ancient Tonhöhenschwankungsmesser in unknown condition to restore and use. (Picture from seller, it’s not here yet.)

if you don't hear music in your heart maybe you gotta open the configuration program to randomly try switching music card options until it comes through

That’s true. Probably they’re nowhere near as effectively shielded as in the old days.

I wonder if maybe car computers might survive a scenario like that relatively well because cars make pretty good faraday‘s cages if i remember correctly. I don’t really want to find out though. Hope we‘re all going to be fine. :/

RAM crisis? Not for me! I have 18MB! #Amiga3000T #RetroComputing #VintageComputing

Oh, I‘m going to have to give that stuff a listen! Sounds like it’s right up my alley! Thanks! :D

Oh, and Slint! Not sure if the genre nominally existed yet when they recorded their stuff but they are definitely one of the defining bands of the whole thing.

Also: Q and not U (a bit more on the pop side but the early stuff is heavily math rock adjacent). One of my favorite bands of all time.

I used to listen to a lot of Valina, an Austrian math rock band. Shellac (Steve Albini‘s band) is great. North of America, Don Caballero. The genre boundaries are relatively fuzzy. I‘d also consider Mogwai and Les Savy Fav math rock-y. All stuff I listened to in the early 2000s. :)

Didn’t realize I missed math rock so much. #AngineDePoitrine

Listening to #AngineDePoitrine (!) while soldering some cables for my Hifi. I’ve settled for Amphenol ACPR RCA plugs and Sommer Cable Onyx as my go-tos for non-audiophile-bs high quality. (Didn’t have any proper colored plugs left so red heatshrink tubing is going to have to do.) #InTheLabDoingStuff

That's right! We destroyed the oldschool demo compo with my most advanced 6502 code to date. This is really running in a stock Atari 2600 with no expansions! (except 32k ROM bank switching)

Very true. It’s not always that obvious, unfortunately! :D
