No, ms doesnt have competition. Windows 96%, linux 2%. 30% of this 2 is steamdeck. Lets talk about 4% or even 5% at the end 2025. Its not a competition, its beatng up.

Just little example. Ive changed SSD few month ago, coz it died. BUT. Ive installed windows 8 when it was released. Updated it to 8.1, then 10, then 11. Without reinstall. It was my main pc for work and gaming. I moved system from one drive and hardware to another several times.

And android is linux. And macos is bsd. But you cant compare debian and android.

Ive used linux for more that 20y and absolutely sure that common users must avoid linux desktop by all costs. User must have a crucial purpose to move or even try it.

rly? just google it, you need to disable it in 3 places: regedit.exe, gpedit.exe, settings. This isn't a problem, moreover, not a reason to move from windows.

You can try KDE, and numbers could change. And who cares in 2025 about memory? This is strange. Memory these days cheapest part of your computer.

Windows desktop in compare to linux desktop is a pure as angel. Works smooth and without any problems. on the other hand, linux desktop especially with wayland is a bugged piece of software. Any package update could crash system without any visible problems.

I dont have it, but I think as headless linux server for minecraft it should be fine.

You dont need it. This package contains downloader, but not with discord itself. So they dont need it as flatpack or any other packager.
