I also love this time of year as a point of reflection and an opportunity to look at what can be adjusted moving forward. I know it’s artificial in a way, but it works for my brain.

I knew last week I was feeling run down and burnt out, but I cannot overstate how wonderful this week has been for my ability to recharge. We have seen NO ONE and my entire focus has been on doing nothing productive. It has been wonderful. Making many notes that will help in the new year.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to take my Advanced and IB Art classes on a field trip to NSCAD and it was probably the best day of my teaching career. Nothing like watching the minds of 23 students explode when they see all of the possibilities to do art after high school.

Happy for AI to dig ditches but I want to make the art. Getting to make the art was supposed to be the reward for all of this

Grad Bonfire Night - first time I’ve been in charge of the fire. Gonna miss this crew when they graduate this year.

It’s Election Day in Nova Scotia and it was also Election Day in my Citizenship 9 class. The PCs won our mock election - not shocking since this is my most right leaning group of students in years - but the Greens came second! The environment continues to be a huge factor for these kids.

Maybe I’m easily amused, but playing Super Nintendo on an iPad with a (USB) SNES Controller might just be peak technology for me. I’m set now.

Like many people, I left Twitter after the takeover but I didn’t migrate to anything else. It’s nice to be back on a social platform!
