Looks interesting. Whenever you see The Who quoted as one of the contributors, you wonder which tune they’ve chosen. I guessed I Can See For Miles. It’s Magic Bus. Which makes sense
I was just down the road at Bangor 1979-82. Feel pretty much the same about there. I don’t think they teach Philosophy there now, which I studied. A real shame
Happy birthday Rod The Mod. First record I bought. Still sounds fantastic
“Wonderful Radio London”
Fantastic album
Just heard the sad news, Johnnie Walker has left the stage. He’s been there ever since I first got into music in the early seventies. Used to rush home at lunchtime to listen to his chart rundown, see if Maggie May was still number one. Genuinely one of the good guys. RIP Pirate Johnnie
Farewell to the best of them all. RIP Jimmy Carter
Thanks Richard. I know you said 5…but…My top choices are:
1. Question Everything - Boys Wonder
2. Hung Up On You - James Taylor Quartet
3. Morning Star - The Prisoners
4. Jetset - The Cavendish Set
5. Just Something - DC Lee
6. Dog Jaw Woman - Guy Hamper Trio
7. 66 - Paul Weller
Ace new selection from excellent beat poet Danny Gray. And a foreword by yours truly. Every home should have a copy. Available now from beatnpress www.beatnpress.co.uk
What I was doing this day in 1968. First visit to Filbert Street, taken by my dad and grandad. All the stars were playing that day. And Leicester won 2.1. And on the walk to the stadium , overall was the smell of fried onions. Funny how some dates stick with you
Alternative TV - number 4 in an ongoing series. Reggae showcase at the Edinburgh Festival in 1973 - an OGWT special starring The Cimarons, Winston Groovy, Dennis Alcapone, The Marvels, Nicky Thomas, The Pioneers, Malaka and Judge Dread

Records of the year. The passage of a few months has, if anything, made it sound even better. Socially relevant, superbly played. Every bit as good as many of the records from the eighties we know and love. A modern masterpiece
The First Book of Jazz by Langston Hughes from 1955. Take a look inside the beautiful mid-century design here www.openculture.com/2015/03/lang...
A land called 1971. Year I first got into music as a nipper
Never give up.
The world needs more misfits with hearts of gold, more tea drinking badgers quoting Rimbaud, more were-bears running wild in forgotten forests, and especially more you.
The Stones at the Marquee 1971 on Sky Arts. Fabulous stuff
'Saturday Night and Sunday Morning', 1960. Set and mostly filmed in Nottingham. #AlbertFinney just got on the bus going down the hill. This is Derby Road, with #StBarnabasCathedral spire seen above the shops on the right. A few newer buildings, but overall, not so different.
