I’m genuinely excited for this next chapter of my life because I have so much to gain and so little to lose at this point. Everything still stings, but I’ve put myself on a path that will bring me joy and fulfillment in the long run

My grandma has been in hospice for a couple months now and her decline has been very slow up until today when she just closed her eyes and stopped responding coherently.

It’s kinda wild how quickly the switch gets flipped from “being in hospice” to “actively and imminently dying”. My dad accepted hospice care, got transferred home from the hospital and was actively dying the next day and passed away 5 days later

One coping mechanism I’ve found to help deal with death is rationalization, so while I’m sat here with my seemingly actively dying grandmother I’m gonna post some thoughts I’ve been having about death and the dying process
