No, I don't let them out when the elk or deer are out. They have to stay on the deck or the dog run. Safer for everyone that way. Shorty, my domesticated feral kitty however, will visit with the elk out in the yard.

Hahaha, yea, that is when he was still a holy terror. When he was little, he loved to parkaour on just about everything. Thankfully he has settled down, now that he is older.

Good Morning, my friend. Agreed. What is unusual about him is, he is still hanging with the cows. After rutting season, the bulls all head over to Robinhood (neighborhood next to mine), and stay there, together, until the next rut. I'm not sure why Bug is allowing him to stay on with her crew.

That's interesting.
We have three different types of deer on the mountain. Mule deer, White tail, and a mix of the two.
According to the game warden, my neighborhood is the only spot on the mountain that has the mix.

He sure is. The Ponderosa Pine needles are heavy in vitamin C. Makes a decent tea in a pinch. The elk will eat the needles during the winter, for sustenance.

Same, my friend. Years ago while camping in Chaco canyon, I had a pack that would visit, nightly. I had my cot set up under the night sky. They would come in after dark and visit. They stayed most of the night. Such a cool experience. Happened again in Big Bend a year later. Happy Day, my friend!

Oh wow. A few nights ago, I caught a mama Coyote on my camera. They sing the song of their people every night. Glad you got to have that experience! Coyote magic! Happy Day, my friend!

When I initially stepped outside, I saw Bigboi Jr munching on the pine needles. I ran back inside to get my camera. I hoped to capture the happy munching. This was the scene as I came back out.
