Something I’ve said a bunch of times before: I don’t know many dads who’ve had to hold things together at home without a partner. Real life Danny Tanner, where? But superhero moms are everywhere. Nothing gets done without them.

I was trying to tell my friend, a working mother of three, what it was like to be the primary parent and sole provider for three small kids while my wife fought addiction. I said I felt like maybe I’d experienced Motherhood. And she agreed that maybe I had.

We flew back from Austin and I just drove him home to reunite him with his family, including his baby. Obviously everyone was very emotional, and I felt a bit like an intruder when they invited me inside. They even asked for a picture with me. But it did feel like it was an important thing to do.
