I read Dawn of Everything and wish to be in a different social reality. But at the end of the day the most brutal and most violent will rule at the top. Survival of the cruelest. Maybe radical empathy will eventually prevail. One can only hope.

Is it capitalism? Manifest Destiny? The Roman notion of Private property? The sheer selfishness, the mindless drive to accumulate at the expense of others. The individualism? Maybe humanity is just not built to be this big and with weapons this powerful.

then Latin America, then the Philippines, Indonesia, Korea, Iran, Palestine, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. now the non elite Americans.
