Tried making something new on the funny number day
Been thinking about this Roger Rabbit comic where Roger rushes home to patty cake the hell outta Jessica
Had a nice vintage 70 I used to use for such things but it has straight up vanished under mysterious circumstances
Wow, momentous
Graphic B&W drawing of a sword, the blade has a grimacing face within it. Sorta a stippled tat looking drawing
Cursed sword
I am interested

Been playing a lot of early Mac 2 Sierra Adventure games and stuff but decided I needed something a little less mainstream to counterbalance so last night I started playing a coop campaign of something called "Halo" for the first time
I'm thinking about ringing in the day with spam musubi and either some sort of zero budget insanity or The One.
Happy funny weed number day
Ou that's an enviable haul

Yooo I couldn't make the leg here in the end, looks sick
Painted Desert in Arizona was a 10/10 camping experience. Barely had to hike in to essentially be in an alien landscape without other campers in site. Gorgeous scenery, there's a bloom season, we saw antelopes.
Been cooking this month. Everything was theatrical except for Witness.

Finally listened to the Shelved by Genre episode and very funny that they called out basically this exact image, always been one that stuck in my memory
I'd need a month to prep, picking just one animal?? Tough ask
It was ruminating on museums and neolithic sites from my Ireland visit in the fall that made me think of doing this far more graphic sorta approach, along with the eerie Bombadil quote I think it captures the essence of why this scene stuck in my head as a kid
I truly redrew a layout for this a bunch of times. Was initially thinking about something a lot more conventionally realistic that depicted Tom coming to the Hobbit rescue, but it never felt like it captured the atmosphere right.
Real
Much like the Gandalf I did this by picking a paper color (in this case the gold of the jewelry) and then layered black and white charcoal brushes on top
Got the go ahead to actually progress Fellowship from my reading buddy so A) I can move on from endlessly redrawing this scene and B) I can actually catch up with @rangedtouch.bsky.social tomorrow and hear what they've got to say about Tom
A digital "charcoal" drawing on golden paper. It's a scratchy slightly crude style. Three figures lie with white gowns and gold jewelry. A long sword rests across their throats. At their feet are scattered Treasures. A massive decrepit hand reaches down from above towards them. Hand drawn text reads "In the black wind the stars shall die"
Tom Bombadillo
Laurel Classical Drama Sophocles. Posted about this elsewhere but bought this cheap without paying particular attention to the translation. Mistake!
I suppose I'll throw this questionable translation of Antigone on the record
Ahhhhhh noooo

I actually love noodly 90s guitar bands but I've never really gotten into Pavement
(I'm watching witness)
