The Bluesky web app now lets me hit the Return key to log in instead of making me click Next!

I wish I had omitted the OP’s second sentence, which set a negative tone.

My best understanding of the replies so far: (1) until Bluesky supports custom feed algorithms, following 10K+ people creates a feed some users prefer, and (2) early on, following 10K+ people tested the limits of Bluesky.

I didn’t see any reason to follow that many accounts, which is why I asked. Thank you for explaining.

Accounts who are following 10K+ other accounts, why are you doing this? It comes across as “follower spam” when one of these accounts follows me (despite my hardly ever posting here).

Perhaps certain kinds of noise can provide comfort without being distracting. Ocean waves, that sort of thing. If you’re interested, I know a web site that has adjustable generators for many such sounds. It’s donation-based, so you would not have to pay anything to try it out.

I wish that issues of social anxiety and trust could be resolved so easily.

Both here and on Twitter (which I joined last month) I almost always reply rather than posting something new. So far I’ve had an easier time finding posts I’d like to reply to on Twitter rather than here. Also, norms here seem different—e.g., despite the meme, no Interintellect promotion.

I assume that the context is teaching/guiding children, because it’s Montessori. But the quote might also apply to one’s own life. In such a view, “My long-term vision is X” is less important than “This direction is promising!”

Tried Firefox instead of Safari and was able to set my pfp and banner. (Not sure if the browser was really the problem.)

Can’t set my pfp or banner using the web app. I can select a file to upload, but nothing happens. Has anyone else had success with this using the web app, not the mobile app?
