Some days—ok most days—I just want to watch out the sliding glass door to the patio where I scatter birdseed and peanuts. The birds are no doubt demonstrating how we should all get along, how we can work together.

Reminder: All it would take to end the murder of American citizens by an untrained government goon squad is 16 Republicans in Congress voting with Dems to defund ICE (or 23 to impeach and remove Trump — 3 in House & 20 in Senate). That’s it. 23 Americans can vote for the public and end all of this.

Call 202-224-6542, Hit 3, and than hit any button to call Chuck Schumer and tell him that this DHS budget cannot pass.

If you need any inspiration, our National Press Coordinator @hunterisntdunn.bsky.social, implored Schumer’s office to stop more blood from getting on their hands.

I found a trove of small, quirky creative endeavors that people are doing to keep spirits up and share with others. So many beautiful bits of hope out there, sprinkled amidst the despair.

I can't believe I'm posting this video - but we actually have to have a conversation about the real world implications of America going to war over Greenland.

Let me walk you through it. It doesn't turn out well for us.

A woman recording an ICE agent tells him "Shame on you."

The agent responds, "Have you all not learned from the past couple of days?"

"Learned what?" she asks

Then he knocks her phone out of her hand

South Park called it, and it’s hilarious.

One of the creators purchased the Trump Kennedy Center URL address before the name was even changed because they know Trump’s narcissism is in the driver’s seat.

All the anti-trans stuff this week (really, this whole year and the past several leading up to it — but especially this week) has taken a real toll on me.

I feel so sad, scared, and angry. I feel like I don't belong in this world, and that really sucks.

Crumbs of Winter Happiness I’m bracing myself for my twelfth Portland winter, barely closer to adjusting than when I first moved from Santa Barbara. Every year seems the same: dreading winter’s dark approach, gra…

Bracing myself for my 12th winter; it's crazy to spend half my year grumbling, bleak. Time for change. Here's how.

A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

Walking This Path Our days on the Olympic Peninsula, on the beach, at Cape Flattery which juts out of the northwest coast of Washington on the northwesternmost edge of the continental U.S.

Our spartan cottage is exactly enough square feet and no more, room for two people who like each other a great deal. Who needs luxury when there’s a wide window looking out on the Salish Sea & Strait of Juan de Fuca?

A few hours in, as we were leaving (here in Portland) there were swarms of people just arriving, so I don't get how they can count. Also, I signed up with Indivisible, but my husband didn't (and I'm sure many didn't). So they can't use that as a measure either.
