I don't think anything I said implied that I think that FIFA as it currently exists is anything other than corrupt. Of course I'm not OK with it.

I don't think that some rich people actually care about football, just the money they can make from it. Billions of people, poor, comfortably off and some people who are by any standards rich, love the game and are extremely saddened by the way the World Cup has been captured by Infantino & Trump.

Depends, I'm pretty sure that Netanyahu doesn't want a settlement of any kind.

Has anyone checked with The Revolutionary Guards as to who this new and more reasonable regime is?

Our Peru Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands Adventure – Machu Picchu Monday 2nd Today was a day that held the possibility of being disappointing. Machu Picchu is a place that is on everyone's bucket list, and possibly the most Instagramed place on earth. What if it didn't live up to the hype and expectations? The day started early, very early, a wake up call at four a.m. early. Our wonderful hotel had breakfast waiting for us, with the option of a take-away.

I know we kneed them back after last Saturday's injuries, but it does feel slightly unfair on Sutton

Surely this could backfire on MAGA. Most Americans I have met in Europe and elsewhere, i.e. the ones with passports, hate Trump and what he is doing to their country.

Our Peru, Ecuador and Galapagos Adventure – Cuzco and Sacsayhuamán Sunday 1st Welcome to the, "If it's Sunday it must be Cuzco" phase of the holiday. We had breakfast was early, to allow enough time to get to the airport for our flight to Cuzco. Lima's traffic is diabolical. We had a few problems with Diane's wheelchair assistance at the airport. But they were overcome. We arrived in Cuzco without any further problems.

From the shipping company CEO's perspective, who is underwriting the insurance?
At the other end of the ship, why should a seaman from the global south risk his or her life to get the oil price down to please Trump?

Our Peru, Ecuador and Galapagos Adventure We have been off on our travels again. This time to South America. Diane and her friend Helen like the occasional exotic holiday. They have been to Costa Rica and Namibia in the past. About this time last year they started plotting planning again. The Galapagos Islands were suggested. Various options were explored, but they eventually settled on this trip with…

I have recently arrived home from a rather wonderful trip to Peru, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. This is the first instalment of my blog about it.

Exploring Global Whisky: A Personal Advent Calendar Journey (The conclusion) With Christmas Day my Advent Calendar came to an end. There are no more whiskies to try. (In my Advent Calendar). There are still thousands, millions maybe, of whiskies still out there. I can drink a different whisky every day, from today until I run out of breath. By then, I would just about have scratched to surface of all that this wonderful drink has to offer.

Exploring Global Whisky: A Personal Advent Calendar Journey (Part 6) I am coming to the end of my Advent Calendar. I have five more whiskies to experience. I shall write about the next four (up to Christmas Eve) in this post. I will do a separate post about the Christmas Day whisky. Which I hope will be something special, but fear will be the World whisky equivalent of a generic blended Scotch.

Exploring Global Whisky: A Personal Advent Calendar Journey (Part 5) The whiskey tasting journey covered a range of spirits from Ireland, Japan, Canada, and India. Highlights included the 15-year-old Red Spot, characterized by fruity and nutty notes, and Nikka from the Barrel, praised for its complex flavors. The Canadian Red Bank Blend was pleasant but unremarkable, while Amarut Fusion impressed with its smoky profile. Overall, the experience showcased diverse whiskey profiles but varied in enjoyment.

Exploring Global Whisky: A Personal Advent Calendar Journey (Part 4) Moving on, with my thoughts on the next four whiskies in my advent calendar. Blogging about the very varied whiskies that I am finding in the calendar is an interesting experience. I am finding that it is making me think about what I am drinking. Instead of just drinking the day's whisky, I reflect on it. I consider whether I like it or not and share my thoughts.

Exploring Global Whisky: A Personal Advent Calendar Journey (Part 3) The post reviews four distinctive whiskies from various countries. The Connemara 12-year-old is noted for its peat and smoke, reminiscent of Islay malts. The Ka Va Lan Sherry Cask from Taiwan features strong sherry notes, along with honey and stone fruit, which the reviewer enjoyed. The Kyrö Rye from Finland offers a unique nutty flavor but presented a challenge for evaluation. Lastly, Denmark's Fary Lochan, smoked over nettles, has herbal and grassy notes but wasn't to the author's taste.
