And let's not forget what Kai Ryssdal always says on Marketplace: the market is not the economy.
I'd love to see the median household income numbers since January 2025, adjusted for inflation.

There was also one near my house on the mountain, as of Thursday afternoon.
This is Exhibit A detailing your prowess with long-focal-length bird, er, butterfly pictures.
*curtseys* Thank you. There's more to come. I did just post a few yesterday, too.
Not that there's anything wrong with that (although I imagine one could analyze what message they're trying to send with said hats).
She was better than the alternative (which isn't saying much), but she seems a bit too cozy with law enforcement at the moment.
Y'all seem to be better at selecting governors down there, for some reason.
A new modular home built by Southern Heritage Homes of Rocky Mount, VA sits atop a concrete foundation that will become a walk-out basement. There will be a 10' deck installed on the near side (facing south). The house necessitated the removal of a large oak tree of unknown age that will be used by a local for heating his house.
Big doings at the home place. Work will hopefully resume this week, now that the holiday season has passed.
Our evil little beast does that as well... much to our amusement.
To be fair... I don't think I'd blame you.
Where does one find such vampires? Asking for a friend.
We'll be lucky if we can remember this by the time Senator Kaine is up for re-election in *checks notes* 2030.
We won't be having any relatives over for Thanksgiving (maybe a couple of friends who likewise won't be visiting relatives), so yes. I hope things go well for y'all this year.
Kaine isn't up for reelection until 2030, should he even decide to run again. I'm sure he's going to say something about the federal workers getting paid again, but there are enough SNAP recipients here who are going to [hopefully] remember this.
The rest of the commonwealth did right well, too. We even flipped our House Of Delegates seat, too.
As someone who travels interstate for work, this worries me in its own way. The last three times I've been pulled over for inspections have all been in TN, and thankfully nobody has said anything about the X on my CDL. Hopefully, it won't come to that.
Well folks, I finally got back to writing after a dozen and a half years. NSFW, for those concerned about such.

Well played.
Mixed blessing, eh?
Always keep a spare pair of safety glasses. You never know when they'll just disappear right in the middle of a project that doesn't require them, which immediately precedes a project that DOES require them. Happy Labour Day, y'all.
Dang. Did you get the fever dreams and hallucinations?
And here I was thinking that a case of the 'rona was getting to be out of fashion. (To be fair, my cousin had it a couple of weeks ago, so it's still making the rounds)
The moon backlights a tall tree on a clear night. My F150 and my parents' old house are in the right side of the image with the tree line in the background. 1 June 2025.
Now that I can log in on here again... things have been a little rough over the past few weeks, but nothing I can't manage, including re-spraining a wrist last night in an epic battle with a washing machine door. In the meantime, have a picture at my parents' old house. Big doings ahead.
Two signs. Top sign says "You are loved" in Pride colours. Bottom sign says "Green Memorial United Methodist Church."
Sometimes, I forget that Roanoke can be a welcoming place. Sometimes, however, there are reminders.
...and makes you read the caption in Tom Bodett's voice at the same time.
Indeed. I'm glad it wasn't any worse than what it was.
