I tried out Codex today. While it was pretty good at problem-solving, it was surprisingly bad at writing basic Vue code. Claude Code has been much better at this in the past.

Months ago I said to some friends we’ll start seeing folks specialise in fixing AI generated messes. I think this will genuinely be a large and enduring market.

Figma Sites seems to be unusable for now, as it creates div-soup.

Bad news for EU software developers: New EU liability rules now classify software and digital files (e.g. 3D files) as “products,” making you potentially liable for defects.
Likely the amount of free apps, made in the EU, will decrease. The risks are too high.

I haven’t used Go much, but I like that you can just do “if(err)” instead of surrounding function calls with “catch” (which might be easy to forget).

Ah, nice! I bookmarked it some time ago, but wasn’t aware that this one is based on the motion library as well.

It’s just JavaScript (no Vue wrapper), so you need to build reactivity around it yourself. But still a great option.

Motion - A modern animation library for JavaScript and React Motion is built on native browser APIs for a tiny filesize and superfast performance. It uses hardware acceleration for smooth and eco-friendly animations. Previously Framer Motion.

I don’t think there is. For UI animations I would use motion.dev (with ref) or useSpring from VueUse.

Two new framework-agnostic animation libraries just appeared: Motion (formerly Framer Motion) and Anime.js v4 (in private beta). I’m considering both as replacements for GSAP, which may have an uncertain future because of its recent acquisition by Webflow.

I have yet to try canvas. Cursor (with Claude) works pretty well for me so far. I really like the way other files can be mentioned in a chat and the TAB interface.

Most people that I know are using Claude instead for software development, much better results.

The first website that I built was made to share skateboarding photos of me and my buddies. Table layout, crazy collages, pixel backgrounds. 23 years ago, wow! I wish there was an archived version including pictures. Wayback machine does not capture images, unfortunately.
