A straight road and pavement lead down a steep hill. In the foreground is the back of a black and white dog's head. In the background, distant hills, some covered in grass, some speckled with houses. It's north Wellington, New Zealand.

Someone here recently recommended CM Waggoner so I read Unnatural Magic and the Ruthless Lady's Guide to Wizardry. Fantastic books! Great writing, funny narrators, highly recommend!!

The Reanimator Mysteries series is perfect for Autism Acceptance Month since the MC, Oliver, is autistic and so is the author.
There are also other neurodivergent and disabled characters throughout the series.

Daggerbound

I am just so fucking delighted right now. DAGGERBOUND by @tkingfisher.com comes out on Aug 26, so you can definitely at least reread Swordheart before then, but tbqh, The World of the White Rat is the best, and you will love all of the books in it.

Just remember this next time you're conforming to whatever "rules" some random people made up for writing, "genre expectations", "what will readers say...", and other endless list of expectations of others...

The sun sets over distant hills. In the foreground a black, white and tan dog sits on a grassy hilltop. The dog is smiling up at the viewer and the whole shot is lit with orange-red light.

Omggggg!!! Found my own book today in the big new library in town!! (i.e. Wellington, New Zealand) As a life-long library lover, this was an amazing moment! To think - I have contributed a library book! Still can't quite believe they had it!

Neither have I - it's a constant juggle and I often get it wrong and exhaust myself. But at least I'm not trying to make my main income from my books

This is why having a day job is important to me. It lets me pay the bills so I can write gentle stories about Regency clergymen falling in love with their gardeners and not have to worry too much about sales.
