We sequence samples from oil reservoirs, crude oil and production fluids. Talk about contamination….we never get 10 Gb. I fully agree with shit in-shit out, but that’s what we got. We have such low biomass that we use several liters of oil to get enough DNA for a single run.

Wirklich? In D würde sich Posidonienschiefer anbieten, der läge teilweise etwas flacher, ansonsten fallen mir nur Devonische Tonsteine mit Rr>1,2 ein, und die liegen tief. Vom Fracking in Kohleflözen will ich echt nicht reden, da halten sich ja selbst die die Firmen in US zurück.

Fracken in D kann man vergessen, das ist niemals ökonomisch. Die entsprechenden Vorkommen liegen in D zu tief um da Gas zu einem vernünftigen Preis zu gewinnen. Besser die Beziehungen und Pipelines zu Norwegen, UK etc ausbauen. Es gibt genug Gas zu gutem Preis von verlässlichen Staaten.

Unweigerlich halte ich für übertrieben, es gibt reichlich Öl&Gas Förderung mit und ohne Fracking wo es keine Erdbeben, Senkungen oder Grundwasser Kontamination gibt. Aber natürlich wird schlussendlich Treibhausgas produziert und das ist immer schädlich

So teuer kann Gas gar nicht werden als das sich fracken finanziell in D rechnet. Die entsprechenden Schichten liegen in D viel tiefer als z.B. in USA. Bohrungen werden daher sehr viel teuer. Das ist eine absolute Scheindebatte bzw. Testballon um zu schauen was die Öffentlichkeit mitmacht.

Bin absolut kein Fracking Fan, aber da muss ich die Technologie mal in Schutz nehmen. Die Erdbeben an der D/NL Grenze kommen nicht durchs Fracken sondern durch die konventionelle Gasförderung. Macht es auch nicht besser….
