Now, if you want to say the stone axe or string or drop spindle is the greatest human invention- sure. But you can’t use the phrase “human history” to describe something that’s use predates history - it’s not how those words work.

My submission is the printing press, as we can literally gauge its impact on civilization using historical information - and let’s give the Chinese their due and not hand all the flowers to Gutenberg. Almost everything else that’s been suggested is prehistoric, making it not a part of history.

For it to be part of human history means it needs to be documented as an invention with record keeping, genuinely.. You would think lawyers who parse language would understand this!

Some pedantry for you: how can something whose existence is literally prehistoric qualify as an invention that happened in human history? The definition of prehistoric literally separates its invention from being a part of history. It can’t be both.
