I don't know the book at all but purely going by this trailer it just looks like another generic post apocalypse film with absolutely nothing shown that makes me want to watch it. Even the visuals are nothing special, one of SirRid's main selling points. 😕

I was there too but was a couple years too old for the whole MotU thing back then so have no nostalgia for it. This movie just looks like incredibly generic franchise fair. However I've enjoyed Travis Knight's stuff so hold out some hope it could be a fun movie in its own right. We'll see.

The Haunting (1963) is on BBC2 at 23.00 tonight. I think it's one of the most genuinely creepy films of all time. It’s basically a masterclass in psychological torment, where the scariest special effect is your own brain filling in the gaps.
