A R-rated animated ‘BLOODBORNE’ movie is in the works.
Jacksepticeye is developing the film.
Over 1,000 major names in Hollywood signed an open letter opposing the Warner Bros/Paramount merger.
This includes Denis Villeneuve, J.J. Abrams, Bryan Cranston, Mark Ruffalo, Joaquin Phoenix, Damon Lindelof, Noah Wyle, Glenn Close, Jane Fonda, David Fincher, Ted Danson & more
A drawing of a realistic dog wearing a tie saying; "I need to lock in and prove that I am capable. I need to be taken seriously." While a drawing of a cartoon dog says; "I need to stay silly and whimsical lest I lose the very essence of myself." Perpetrating an endless cycle
Endless cycle
I have thoughts on the new Harry Potter HBO series trailer. Many many thoughts. I grew up with the books and original run of films in the 2000s, but I stopped supporting the author and franchise long ago. So take my first impressions with that in mind. But overall it sucks

Love the new song Click Clack Symphony by RAYE. and some part of my brain had a thought, there should be a version of this song about wanting-slash-needing to play D&D with friends
Call it "Click Clack [Dice] Symphony" lol
"Tsundoku"
The habit of collecting books and letting them pile up, unread, while still cherishing the possibility of reading them one day. #booksky
Art of a siren atop piles of skulls. Blue fish swirl around them and skeletons float in the background with a giant angler fish monster lurking.
Two bird-like characters helping each other and flying through a broken crown with black-eyed Susan flowers behind them.
The character Harley hugging Poison Ivy from behind who is covered in fungal growths.
A giant foo dog protecting a jade ball. It roars at the character Xanthe who is holding a large sword with colorful swirling magic. The character Constantine in the lower left corner.

illustration inspired by Charlotte Perkins-Gilman's 1891 short story "The Yellow Wallpaper" depicting a woman touching sickly yellow torn wallpaper on a wall while shadowy hands reach toward her. There is another tall shadow of a figure on the wall and both figures look toward the viewer.
"The color is repellent, almost revolting; a smouldering unclean yellow, strangely faded by the slow-turning sunlight."
I made a "Yellow Wallpaper" piece back in 2017, but I re-read the story over the weekend and wanted to try again. Much happier with this version 🖤

Aaack! The second season of Like Water for Chocolate is out and no one told me!!!
I knew there was a reason I felt like having coffee later in the day. It's because I'm gonna start watching the new season ASAP!
#DND #TTRPG Ideas: 1/🧵Elves with antlers. Cool or weird?
Overall I feel like people don't consider the implications.
Do all elves have them like caribou and reindeer? Or do only males have them like elk and deer?
Is there a tribe of pseudo- or "false" elves with tusks instead like musk deer?
Some YA fantasy authors who to my knowledge have never funded an attempted trans genocide:
Terry Pratchett
Diana Wynne-Jones
Garth Nix
Suzanne Collins
Susan Cooper
Phillip Pullman
Rick Riordan
Pierce Brown
Sheri S. Tepper
V. E. Schwab
Rachel Hartman
Alex Pheby
Alan Garner
Ursula Le Guin
And more!
11/ I appreciate you reading this far. These are my opinions as of writing, as new info comes out I may change my mind.
But I will not be convinced into watching; I feel its grossly intended and weakly executed. I won't give Jake Hay Rowling my money or brain space. Same for the advertising of this.
10/ HP is famously imaginative, wacky and weird. The spinoff literally started with Fantastical in the title.
So where's the imagination? They have the budget to do literally anything, and they are keeping their cards too close.
Magic brought to life is the selling point to HP! Show us magic dang it
9/ Lastly there's nothing magical shown
No clips of Quidditch or brooms in flight
No casting spells or running through walls
No talking with snakes, ghosts or three headed dogs
No chocolate frogs, flying books, talking paintings or floating candles
Even the Sorting Hat is lifeless and boring. Why?!
8/ Additionally, many actors from the original films have gone on record speaking out against JK Rowling's TERF mania.
So this whole reboot feels like it's meant to silence its critics by softening the franchise/JKR's reputation, so diehards can justify watching it all again and buying more merch
7/ Diehards still buy merch, go to Wizarding World and rewatch the films (because its a Christmas tradition we were sold by marketing), and engage with it despite the controversies. It expects naive fans with money.
HP was lightning in a bottle; HBO/WB wants to catch it again, the adult actors too.
6/ Also, the Internet is very polarized about Harry Potter nowadays. You can't separate the work and author. Not when JKR is actively using the profits from her creation's franchise to demonize trans people and influence UK lawmakers against them.
And this reboot will fill her pockets even more. Ew
6/ Back to point 4 real quick: where is Voldemort?! As of writing this, I can't find anyone even cast in his role yet.
He's the iconic villain role of the IP/franchise. Not even a voiceover announcement?
Why not hint at the connection between Harry and V now that the books are completed?
5/ Also, why doesn't Hermione get lines in the trailer? She's oddly silent for one of the main trio.
Her character has always gotten hate in the first book/film. So I fear the internet re-discovering Hermione's character flaws with this new actress.
Again, don't send hate to the child actors please
4/ Yes, it's a first teaser; but you're introducing an all new cast to multiple generations! Give the audience new and old more introduction:
Dumbledore hinting at Harry's destiny?
A snide comment from Snape?
Motherly affirmation from McGonagal?
An ominous threat from Voldemort in the shadows?
3/ Only a handful of characters talk in the trailer. We only hear from Harry and Ron (too new to gauge), the new Hagrid (bumbling wistful), Ollivander (ominous) and Mrs Dursley (abusive).
Nothing from Dumbledore, McGonagal, Snape or Voldemort?! Come on, HBO, you made a big deal about who got cast!
2/ Why isn't Harry shown engaging with anything magic? His home life is abusive, but why is seeing a small child be beaten and cry something you think will summon new and old viewers to watch?
Why not show Harry's growth, agency and confidence that's to come? What he can achieve with new friends!
1/ This is not an escapist magical fantasy for kids anymore. Compare this with the original 2001 film trailer.
Harry was someone kids of all ages could discover the wonder and darkness of magic through. Not anymore...
Take this story seriously about child wizards, it's a super serious IP now.

I've been busy working on an entirely niche #dnd resource for the Ravenloft 3e/3.5 campaign setting.
A lot of character options have been lost due to Ravenloft being out of print, on older pdfs and scattered all over.
So I did something about it.😆 #ttrpgs

I'm now running two groups with the same #dnd campaign, set in my Greek mythology setting. They're all failed heroes trying to escape the Underworld
It's interesting hosting the same encounters for a group of longstanding friends over discord verses a group of new acquaintances in person.
Did some editing two weeks ago on the Ravenloft 3e/3.5 edition Compendium I put out last month! Answered some questions and corrected some RAW issues. Check out the updated links below if you're a fan of classic Ravenloft character options!

8 months ago I watched an amazing animated movie, and it inspired me to create a new homebrew class for D&D 3e/3.5: the Songhunter!
And last night, KPop Demon Hunters took home the Oscars for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song! Congratulations to this amazing film and its team! #kpdh #dnd
