A long time ago in a galaxy not so far away...someone showed up to Derby in full Stormtrooper gear and absolutely won the day. 🎺🚀 THIS was main event fashion.
Probably too 10,000 photos. Shook 10,000 hands. And that helmet? Never. Came. Off. Not once. Fully committed. Respect.

The tiny town of West Point, KY is smack dab between Louisville and Elizabethtown off Dixie Highway. Some cool & fascinating historical markers scattered around. I love this one with “A Pioneer River man known only to God.”
Hmm. Might be time to update the LinkedIn profile...
I save a bourbon pour just for 🫵
THIS is my sure-fire sign that the Kentucky Derby is less than two weeks away. I start seeing these bottles pop up on store displays evvvveerywhere around town.
With regular visits to my local liquor, why would I need a pesky calendar to tell me how close we are to Derby Day?
Jackass.
How do I know it’s almost Derby Time? Trigger is back in town!
You guys, I did it! I found it! It was in St. Petersburg, FL all along. Incredibly clearly marked and everything!
Man, people have been looking for this thing forever…
A famous ancient Kentucky Proverb says "There is no 'too many bourbons on the shelf.' There is only 'not enough shelf."
Years ago, I had a good friend who was convinced that the lyrics from a popular Elvis Costello song were "I don't want to go to jail, sir!" (It's actually "I Don't Want to Go to Chelsea.")
Very hilariously wrong yet still fits the song. I think about that a lot...
Stumbled upon this when adding magnets to my new liquor cabinet - Beam distillery was handing out these commemorative bung magnets to mark the milestone 8 years ago. There were cookies too.
Curious on what the (likely massive) barrel fill count is down in Claremont these day.
Bourbon? 🥃
Tales from the escapades of showing my nine year old daughter pictures of 18th & 19th century U.S. presidents…
It's hard to believe that all of this mess was just last year.
This aerial photos from last Spring best captures how much the flooding from the Kentucky River impacted the Buffalo Trace campus. Just water everywhere. The resulting clean up effort was nothing short of amazing...
Wielding my Whiskey Thief like I know what the hell I'm doing. Maybe a samari. Deadly weapon? It's all unclear.
Was quite excited to crack into these splendid 12-year bottles (and a couple of others) during last week's "Aged to Perfection” bourbon tasting event! Amazing times all around...
Full cup of black coffee, my favorite notepad and pen. I am ready to rock this day. Bring on Friday…
Giddy up!🐎 Okay, we've got all the pours locked & loaded for our upcoming Saddle Up & Sip event on 4/17:

Well, this is adorable.
(And, yes, real and available for your most beloved bottles - store.fourrosesbourbon.com/yellow-bottl... )
Holy Horse Halter! Someone told me that infield tickets at the Derby had skyrocketed, but I didn't quite believe it until I checked the official site today.
$127 before taxes and fees and oh MY that's a lot for a grassy spot in the infield!
Wife: “It just feels like everywhere I look, there are bottles lying around."
Me: “No, no, no. Those are going back into a bag and are bound for Ohio. Those are my Toledo Bottles.”
(Looooong pause)
Wife: “You realize most sane people don’t have specific 'Toledo Bottles.'"
Spotted this guy at Bourbon & Beyond last year and I think of him from time to time.
That’s my kind of lawyer…
Nice read on a new bourbon release from Heaven Hill. BUT the real lede is that HH is starting to move away from those iconic old Warehouses in Deatsville, KY.
For years, the brand has owned nine rickhouses there with a capacity about 167,000 barrels.

Just some tremendous pours - these were the bottles I featured for our "Aged to Perfection" public tasting event earlier this month. Showcasing all 12 Year (and a bit older!) Kentucky Bourbons.
Wanna guess which one won the informal voting among attendees for favorite sip of the night?!
When you tell your friends you're only going to have one drink tonight...
Giddy up and Gulp! 🐎🥃

Now THAT is the kind of bourbon (and more) menu that I like to see at any restaurant. Was thrilled to have stumbled into this out-of-the-way spot in Frankfort, KY.
(The big red circle was my own enthusiastic addition. )
Listen, I don't know about you guys, but on this little eye-test, I am seeing 20/20 everywhere except the bottom middle.
This might be the only medical test I’ve ever enjoyed failing. 🩺🥃 Gonna have to make another run to the liquor store, I suppose.. "Science" is truly a beautiful thing.
Ah, we all have that ONE whiskey bottle we don't plan on opening anytime soon.
Everyone has a different reason on why they want to hold off on cracking it open.
For me and this 2016 American Pharoah Maker's Mark bottle...it's purely sentimental.
Ah, yes. The other, considerably less popular 1970's Bill Withers’ song...
In an attempt to sound more pretentious at all social gatherings, I'm going to start boasting that Blaufränkisch is, hands down, my favorite type of wine.
Blaufränkisch!
So fun to say.
