Anyway I have had a cold call from my middle boss and big boss today, plus a meeting with my direct supervisor (where he was 10 minutes late and didn't bother to tell me he would be) so like. the work situation is getting dire, man.

me: here is a process that isn't working, can you help?

Management: what if instead of that I made up problems instead

"I don't want to make your lives harder." "I don't want to micromanage." Okay well you're failing at that. 🖕

So he backed off to "mark off chunks on your calendar" but I'm still pissed off about it. We literally document our work already, why do you need me to tell you what I'm working on tomorrow at any given time.

I do my job. You can tell because my work gets done. You can see my work.

*done, ugh.

He took it back to "give me chunks of time" but like. I don't organize my work like that. I deal with whatever is in my inbox that's oldest/most urgent and work forward from there. Why do I need to tell you I'm doing my job. My work is getting dobe that's how you can tell. Fuck all the way off.

Right? He recanted and was like "I just want to know what you do during the day, so give me some broad blocks" here are some blocks for you: 8-12pm my job, 12-4:30pm also my job

"How do you know what you're doing every day?" Because I know what my job is???

I complained a bunch yesterday and have wept a bunch today but here is the free tree I got from the library, so there's some good left in this world, Mr Frodo.

Essentially they reclassified the type of role I'm in, and per the handbook the new classification earns PTO at a lower rate than the previous classification. They told me to my face that the change wouldn't impact my compensation, and yet.

I messaged HR about it but my hopes are not high.

🫠 it also came out today that they are actually decreasing some of my benefits for reasons no one has been able to actually explain.

Okay, another in person meeting at work coming up. I just have to remember they don't care about me, they don't know what I do, and that every question I ask will be taken as evidence that I am an idiot, even though they are reasonable questions.
