Got two more desk pet orders and just finished them up. These two are on their way to Colorado, hope they enjoy the mountains โฐ๏ธ

A graph of YouTube subscribers going down
That feeling when you post a new video after a year and it reminds people they are subscribed to you ๐ญ but what goes down must come up! #youtube #creator #growth #funny #sad #restart #newvideo #audience
I made this little desk pet a while ago and people seem to like them. Its interactive so you can pet it!

Interesting talk about CYD (Claw back your data) a tool to delete all your old tweets and migrate them to BlueSky. Its free an open source and I would definitely be using it If I had a twitter.

This is so cool! I love tactile and interesting ways to interact with things that have been taken over by phones and screens!
Thank you for the resources! I will look into those!
Thank you for the suggestion! ESPHome is something I have wanted to look into for a while!
If you could choose one device to be smart what would it be? Lights, thermostats, etc. I want to try my hand at creating some smart home devices that don't require any external internet connections and am curious what people need/want! #arduino #smarthome #esp32 #code #KEY #keep_everything_yours
In case you need it or someone stumbles into this thread here is a link to an example project that uses the DAC to turn the CYD into an Internet radio github.com/witnessmenow...
Thank you for explaining, I really appreciate it. I will have to look around a bit more and may update my video. Would love to try graphene but don't have the funds to buy a newer phone compatible with it at the moment.
I'd probably try one of those ESP32 based CYD boards. They have an SD card slot and a DAC and connection for a speaker built in. Might be a bit of work but you can play files off the SD card and have the ability to change, pause, or play from the builtin touchscreen
Thank you for the reply! What are the more reasonable options? I made a video talking about /e/OS and how it compares to stock android. I did research but maybe not enough. So you are saying that leaving stock android on a device is preferable to /e/OS if I am unable to get a newer device?
This is a naive question but what about compared to stock android? I have wanted to try graphene but my older phone is incompatible. /e/OS supports it however and allowed me to use a newer android version. Is that worse than if I had left it stock?
To be clear android will remain open source it's just the development that's no longer going to be public
Not sure how to feel about this. On the one hand I understand doing just about anything to streamline a #development process (esp. on something as large as #android) on the other closing things off leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I'd love to hear opinions ๐ค

Another day another reason that we need to make a change to #keep_everything_yours. @jeffgeerling.com had to replace a dishwasher and the new one requires a cloud account and access to the Internet to run a rinse cycle?!!

A big part of keeping everything yours is learning how things work. With a bit of insight you'll realize a lot of things don't need your data. The best way to learn in my opinion is by doing and this GitHub repo has a ton of project walk through to make things for yourself github.com/codecrafters...
Taken directly from the marketing page of a startup that will get 10 mil in funding and be defunct by the end of the year ๐๐
For those who might have missed the video I'm changing my channel from make it for less to for less to keep everything yours. This video explains my reasoning and what to expect moving forward. The basic idea is to move away from only my own projects and show off more #opensource youtu.be/Ac0L0wzXVis
Amazon is removing the ability to download books you have already paid for and own! If you have bought any e-books through Amazon go download them before February 26th! I made a quick video talking about it youtu.be/jGo-TZHG9VU
I think a short course on the basics of setting up ota updates would be super useful for a wide range of projects. Not just getting the code set up to accept ota updates but also how to build the project to get files in the proper format and showing some ways ota can be utilized.

If you are interested in programming and like video games (An unheard of combination!) check out this $10 bundle. I have sunk many hours into Shenzhen I/O. You build devices by using simulated hardware (MCUs, IO expanders, etc.) and program them in assembly! www.humblebundle.com/games/new-ye...
After trying everything I could think of (Hardware + Software changes) I could not get power usage for BLE on the #ESP32 below around 100ma. Switched to a #nrf52840 and with no intervention power usage is down almost 15x to 7ma. If I put it to sleep that drops another almost 70x to 100ยตA! So Happy!!
Just like IKEA building instructions ๐
I am happy to say that I am a liar! You can't use ADC2 however you can use ADC1. I (for the first time in my life /s) made a mistake in my code
In case it saves anyone else from pulling their hair out all morning, you can't use the ADC and WiFi at the same time on a #ESP32 ๐
Yes it's in the docs, No I did not read them ๐คฃ

Ooh so is it like a point and shoot iot remote?
I have wanted to try out Godot and an XR project sounds like a fun excuse!
Is that a color e-ink display?
