Dog chased a critter into the pond. Turned around to get out, had a vine around his neck. I was otherwise occupied and didn’t notice he’d gone. Found him struggling with his head just above the water. We both got cut up pretty bad getting him loose. Very scary. He never went near the bank again.

When I lived on a Girl Scout facility with my partner, the ranger, we fought the long, twilight war against the Himalayan blackberries to keep them from choking out the pond. One almost killed my dog. You have no idea.
