If you do decide to play the game, I recommend playing through a decent chunk of the main story, despite what you may have heard about it online. It gradually unlocks new gameplay mechanics and playable characters, and navigates you around the world in a way that doesn't feel overwhelming.

It's not a perfect game by any means - controls can be pretty hard to get used to, since they tried REALLY hard to cram as many actions onto a controller as possible. Menus can also be a little awkward to navigate, and some quests can be a bit boring (or just don't give good incentive to do them)

It reminds me a lot of Death Stranding in a way. Much like that game, Crimson Desert starts out intentionally slow. It's one of those games that really take a few hours to start clicking together. Once it did though, I began to really enjoy it.

This game has been such an unexpected hit for me. I initially had NO interest in the game, but then I saw videos showcasing some of the crazy movement and combat tech that was possible, and I'm a sucker for that shit, so I caved and gave it a try.

Now I must go, my Pywell needs me.
