Yeah when Fox News is pushing back against a Republican it probably means we're in trouble. πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’« If an idea is bad enough, even Fox News reporters might try to get out ahead of it.

it's really more of an emulation of true socialism existing within a capitalist environment. I do think capitalism in itself is problematic, but I don't support overnight reform because little steps forward are the only path I see possible.

demonized term to sell something better than capitalism alone with zero guardrails has to offer.

I actually also do not think that Bernie Sanders is a communist so I feel like there is at least some false equivalency happening here if we are saying democratic socialism IS communism despite that ⬇️

Unfortunately, selling ideas to complete fucking idiots seems to be an inherently necessary thing in any democracy based on the fact that everyone having a right to vote for some form of representation is a fundamental principle.

I don't have any better ideas than trying to use a slightly less ⬇️

You're probably right, but from my perception it still seems like a very slightly easier to sell to some people who still say they would have voted for Sanders but instead voted for Trump.

They may call Biden a communist, but that just shows they are complete fucking idiots 😿... Which we knew. ⬇️

with dictatorship and a general lack of freedom to choose one's own craft in the minds of so, so many.

On the other hand, the right pretty much considers Socialists to be Communists anyway, so maybe it doesn't matter, but it just feels like an easier immediate stepping stone away from Capitalism.

I think that Capitalism is a runaway engine of which the only possible outcome is the simultaneous exploitation of people and destruction of the environment.

That said, I guess in the current climate I'd rather call myself a Leftist and a Socialist only because Communism is inseparably associated ⬇️

But the fact that a vote for Trump sold out people they claimed to care about, themselves, and their entire immediately family ailed in comparison to the thought of a woman possibly being president.

They did complain to me when they got the notice about the work requirements I had warned about. πŸ™„

Warnings were given about changes to Medicaid and EBT, work requirements, and tariffs... There were explanations of costs being a result of the pandemic and that the president of course does not actually set the price of goods... This was an entire family of non-working, able-bodied adults.

These people claimed trans friends (like myself) yet knew Trump's previous DOJ had declared it was legal for businesses to not hire or even fire people on the basis of being trans. They knew legally eradicating our identity and invalidating passports with changed gender markers was a day one goal.

Yeah, sadly, 100% this. I worry we're just too misogynistic as a country right now. I know adults without jobs on Medicaid and EBT who hadn't worked in over a decade (probably two decades) but voted for Trump because "things were cheaper when he was president." It was code for "I'm a raging sexist."

I watched a documentary on the PR campaign Bush I used to drum up American support for Iraq War I. It was pretty sophisticated! Even Dubya sent Colin Powell to the UN to pretend Saddam had WMDs before Iraq War II. Now it's just a bunch of creeps tweeting "Venezuela's oil is OURS." Lazy and wack.

Literally everything America has ever done on foreign soil has been for the benefit of America first and foremost if not solely. This idea that our military has been some kind of benevolent force for other countries is radically untrue.

While I agree with the sentiment of your post, I feel obligated to point out that "et cetera" is abbreviated as "etc", although 'ect' is certainly a common mistake, whether as a typo or a misspelling.

I often try to get MAGAs to view this list (which can be found by searching "30573 lies"), and while by far the most common response is silence, the only other response I've even seen is to attack the credibility of the Washington Post, undoubtedly without having so much as glanced at the list.

I think the sad reality is that his supporters DON'T call him out on bold faced lies - they repeat them without doing research, then claim facts are left-wing propaganda. There is a list of 30,573 lies Trump told on his first term that is simply quotes from Trump paired with factual reality. ⬇️

It took a long time, but I built my first ever web app 1) using a JS framework, 2) consisting of a front-end client and back-end API(s), and 3) that is a PWA.

I used Vue.js for the front end, created one API in Node.js, and made another in PHP.

Public git repo and demo instance coming eventually.

Also CA and Ch were the first money apps I found that had had real bank-like features such as providing a debit card and routing number for direct deposits, which can be a huge relief if one has or has had financial issues with banks that can be barriers to account ownership.

PayPal is the fucking worst with their extremely predatory credit system featuring a monthly charge that doubles every time a payment is missed... πŸ™€!

CashApp and Chime are my favorite, although I use Chime as a buffer account for subscriptions mostly and transfer as needed to prevent surprises.

⬆️ how long it took a service worker in my my web browser to update a cache (not sure πŸ€” if I tried checking incognito πŸ₯Έ) and the app on my phone to similarly to update some form of cache, but I have a suspicion the delay was actually due to caching done by Sky's back-end search provider

Late on this, but my username update to domain finally went through completely I want to say about 3 weeks after the fact... At least that's when I noticed it, and I had been checking semi-frequently from my phone and computer for at least the first two weeks. I suppose it's possible that was just ⬇️

All I had to see was a post cussing out Trump and Musk 😹... Seeing recovery celebration was a bonus also - congrats πŸ˜ΊπŸŽ‰!
