Why can’t they just go muck around with x?

Better yet, hack truth social and trump’s account (though I guess they can’t say anything crazier than what he posts already…)

The sooner more people learn it is all around us and we are part of it, the better. Maybe we’ll take care of it better then.

Saw someone on Nextdoor complaining that foxes belong “in the wild.”

Seriously ma’am, where exactly IS the wild? You moved to a wooded area with large lots. The wild starts the moment you step past your door. Why does everyone seem to think nature only exists “somewhere else?”

Not necessarily. Mine becomes swamped with invasive plants if I’m not vigilant

Also the next section has a mix of vinca and burning bush babies. So. Much. Pulling. 😭

Nicely done!

And yes, everything hurts today! Even the tips of my fingers 😩

A black lawn garbage bag packed full of b by vinca (and some bittersweet and other plants) sits next to a tree in the newly cleared area. A bright light purple periwinkle flower sticks out the top of the bag.

Behind the newly cleared area, a large patch of golden ragwort gets some evening sun. The yellow flowers tower well above the leaves. That area was previously covered in honeysuckle and multiflora rose, and packera is being used to crowd out invasives in that area.

The slow but steady removal of vinca continues… removed a large patch of the stuff and put in some ostrich ferns and sedges to hopefully spread into the space. This has been an ongoing project, and mountain mint and packera are spreading nicely through previous sections

Pale pink native pinxter azalea blooms in the woods. The blooms have very long darker pink stamens extend far past the petals and curve upwards.

Today was a fun day of cleaning up the garden and pulling invasives. Sadly found a lot of my mountain laurels have died. But also found this beauty :)

I’ve loved these since I was a kid, my grandma had a huge mass of them and they smelled so good 😊

I wish they weren’t so problematic in my area :(

I really would love some of these. The smell is wonderful ❤️

PEEPERS!!! These are my favorite frog friends, but I hardly ever actually see them.

Sometimes my pedantry comes up and bursts forth before I can stop it, but whoever designed that needs a refresher as they’ve drawn a Viceroy, not a monarch 😆

(That said it’s a great sentiment and I saw multiple similar signs at a recent protest in our area)

I sliced my thumb open on a cheese grater while be to blood thinners. That thing bled for hours.

Proud to say I’ve since sliced a matching wound to my other thumb and now have delightful symmetrical scarring.

The parts of this I saw were so sad. No tax on tips helped this woman when her husband got a horrible diagnosis and they were struggling.

But maybe a real health care system would help more.

It’s brilliant!

They’re now using Epstein to distract from Iran!

If many more come up, possibly!

Though last year I had conflicts every time a share was planned 😆

I scattered seeds totally haphazardly last year. They’re coming up everywhere :)

Another fun surprise- my fringed bleeding heart has babies popping up all over too 😀

Pictured is a screen shot from a social media feed featuring an ad from Audible. The book title listed is “The Testicle King”, with AI cover art featuring a white guy in a purple suit with a gold crown and cloak, sounded by what looks like an army of white women in sparkly gold dresses.

Sometimes the ads I get just really confuse and amuse me. And now I really want to google this title to see why it showed up, but putting that in my search history seems like a horrible idea and I shudder to think of the targeted ads I’d get if I did.

Funny timing. We’ve got one judging our yard right now.

I would hope that having a toilet helps this situation a bit

I think these are solitary Mason bees, so there’s likely no real nest :)

In short- is this something a responsible rescue or shelter would actually do?

2 weeks ago 0 0 0 0

In addition animals in shelters or rescues may have trauma in their past, and a situation like this might be confusing or overwhelming for them. Animals may act very differently in this situation than they would normally.

We also have to think about “is this actually a good idea”?

Adopting an animal is a serious business and adopters need to be vetted and need to spend some time picking the right animal for their situation. Good orgs will have adopters spend some time with the animals.

I like bees, but I kind of feel like maybe this isn’t good. :/ they’re using the weep holes under the door too.

I guess it’s better than termites 🤷‍♀️
