I watched it live for the first time this week and I laughed SO loudly. Only sketch I didn’t laugh was the very first, every other was an absolute banger. You defo can’t say that about the US one! It’s starting to remind me of Smack The Pony in its heyday.

These books have been around for YEARS. How could they butcher them so substantially. I’m certain many, many people have approached with adaptations and this is what we get.
And what’s so annoying is the casting; bar the mother is really good. They all look like the book sisters. So WHY THE MUM.

This adaptation has all of the pain and grief of Rachel and Anna’s stories and none of the redeeming lightness that makes the books bearable. No wonder these girls are like it with that mother.
And I also hate how they’ve combined the two most painful stories into one series. Why.

I’m so cross at the casting of Mammy Walsh on The Walsh Sisters. What an awful, awful mother.
The whole point of the books is that the girls come from a “normal” family; it shows that “normal” people still struggle with life-altering moments and issues. What a waste of excellent books.

He’s even WORSE in the new series. I actively dislike him now, before it felt like more of a balance between hating Carrie for what she did to him and him putting too much pressure on her to get married.

Started working fully from home in March and still feel guilty about breaking to put washing on etc, so I often end up having less breaks.

I’ve just found out we’re trialing “summer hours”, so I’ll be part-time only for August, & Fridays off.

This genuinely might be the greatest day of my life.
