@therestpolitics.bsky.social Question: As Reform are now peddling the concept of net zero immigration (emphasis on the CON), does this give an opportunity for the government and EU to sell a reciprocal youth exchange scheme as having a net zero effect on immigration?

An exercise in bulletproof logic ...
💩 Fartrage relentlessly pushed for Brexit.
💩 He got Brexit.
💩 Brexit broke Britain.
💩 Fartrage says Britain is broken and only Fartrage's Deform Ltd can fix it.
... and privatise the NHS too.
[You're not supposed to say that bit, silly me.]
U.S. economy shrinks at 0.3% rate in first Trump-era GDP report
DONALD TRUMP, AUGUST 14, 2024: "When I win the election, we will immediately begin a brand-new Trump economic boom"

What a hack
Exactly
Farmers are like, 'I farm, therefore I vote for the bloke who’d rather import chemically scrubbed meat from across the Atlantic.' Muppets.
It’s time, isn’t it?! 👇

Nigel Farage will make the UK a Trump tribute act.
For a strong local champion who will stand up for our community, vote Liberal Democrat.
Never a truer word spoken.
Has he apologised for America's unprovoked attack on the Japanese at Pearl Harbour?
a picture of the apple logo with the caption "0% tariff" next to a picture of a real apple with the caption "10% tariff"
A helpful guide to the current state of US trade policy:
Trevor Philips, "Is the 10% tariff on the UK a benefit of Brexit?"
Caroline Lucas, "Leaving the EU costs us 5% of GDP"
"Trump's 10% tariff has an impact of 0.3%"
"And this special relationship with the US is no better than an island with a whole load of penguins on it"
True ✅
On Tuesday night, Judge Susan Crawford was elected to the Wisconsin Supreme Court by a decisive 10-point margin, a rebuke of Elon Musk, who spent $20 million in an attempt to buy the seat. And that's just the beginning. For more progressive victories, don't miss this edition of the Week In Wins.
🦋Former President Obama brings his calm and steady leadership style to us once again to remind us of our power:
“It is up to all of us to fix this. It's not going to be because somebody comes and saves you. The most important office in this democracy is the citizen—who says, no, that's not right.”🦋
The image shows a newspaper or publication snippet with a red-bordered box titled "NUMBER CRUNCHING" in large red text. It contains two statistics: - "52% Increase in the number of hours raw sewage was pumped into rivers by Thames Water from 2023 to 2024" - "69% Increase in bonus payments for Thames Water executives from 2022/23 to 2023/24"

This year 50% of the new wealth will go to the richest 3000 billionaires, 0.000035%.
The other 99.999965% will have to share the other 50%.
This is THE problem.
UK: Brexit is the biggest act of economic self harm any country will ever perform
USA: Hold my beer...
I find it outrageous as well.
Really looking forward to Jeff Bezos' forceful public condemnation of Trump's tariffs since he is so committed to "free markets" that he made a rule that every opinion piece published in the Washington Post must support "free markets"
For some reason, Bezos hasn't said anything yet. Must be busy.
Show some gratitude to the financial geniuses in the White House, America!
We were told Brexit would bring prosperity, but the facts tell a different story. Brexit has left us weaker — economically, diplomatically, and in terms of our security. www.politics.co.uk/mp-comment/2...
Starmer wrote in the Express that he is against restoring Freedom of Movement.
Please retweet if you want our Freedom of Movement restored.
We were robbed of our right to live, work, study, and love in 30 countries by the worst abuses of democracy in modern British history.
Hitler's thugs did not initially set out to do mass murders. First they tried to get Jews, Gays, Roma, other "undesirables" to just leave. Then they started rounding them up for deportation. The camps got overwhelmed, which led to the "final solution" of gas chambers & ovens.
History CAN repeat.
We have to stand tall with our allies in Canada and Europe against Trump's tariffs and show that Britain will not be bullied.
That means preparing potential tariffs including on Elon Musk's Teslas, and urgently negotiating a better trade deal with the EU.
