the first cd I remember buying, and it remains one of my all-time faves
I'll mail it to the Brits toot-sweet
I feel like I just found ancient sandwich crusts in a plastic baggie at the bottom of my backpack
So, about the 5 little ducks song... where did they go? Did the pond freeze over in stages?
Saw someone upbraiding someone else for having a hobby while the world is on fire, and, my friends:
1. The world is ever on fire, this is today's conflagration;
2. If you don't find time for rest and joy the fire will consume you;
3. Don't let people shame you for being an entire human.
But she said "if long suffering propriety is what they want from me, they don't know how you've haunted me so stunningly" and I just don't know how to go on
βWe can disagree and still love each other unless your disagreement is rooted in my oppression and denial of my humanity and right to existβ

Once again I ask, why am I supposed to be the embarrassed one for spelling "icup?" It is way more mortifying that you don't know how to close a goddamn door

Rad, thanks so much!
Many thanks!
Hell yeah this is awesome! I've been looking for a good one of these to connect with other musicians. How can I get on the next one?
Also that case in the first Ace Attorney game technically makes it a Christmas game uh-oh I don't make the rules π€·
I'm not on twitter anymore, but this tweet from 2 years ago is sadly more accurate than ever
Overall, I'm grossed out by and uncomfortable with anybody who wants to use GenAI to make and profit from music, and I firmly believe we need legislation to limit its advancement and usage within the industry. BUT I'd be dishonest if I said I haven't been entertained before by some AI-made stuff
is that they are not being used to pass off as somebody's creation, but rather they're a way to smooth along an often arduous road to project completion. To summarize--
There are other types of non-generative AI tools that can be really helpful in the music production process, which I don't see as menacing because they are limited in scope for what they do. Tools that assist with sound isolation, EQ-ing, pitch correction. I think part of why those don't bother me--
or an experience of life or death itself, thereby making it incapable of creating art or statements of its own. It is IP theft, sometimes basically identity theft, and it is often seen as a cheap way out of paying real musicians, artists, producers, and other workers. Beyond that--
Generative AI is damaging to music and musicians, particularly because of the lack of regulation surrounding it. It is invasive and exploitative to regurgitate someone else's ideas and voice for profit, particularly and especially without consent or knowledge. GenAI is incapable of having opinions--
I know that just in general they're prettier words that flow better lyrically, so they're easier to sing, it just feels nice to me π€·
What i love about the way Taylor Swift compliments people's appearance in her music is that from the very beginning, she's used words like "beautiful" and "gorgeous" often in place of the more clearly-gendered "handsome." It's weirdly affirming as an nb listener lol

Tessa Violet is amazing, the whole album My God is kickass!
I had a feeling you'd dig this!
