Look bringing back polio sounds bad. But it’s a small price to pay to get rid of pronouns in email signatures and black women in star wars.

My husband and I were both beneficiaries of DEI-focused programming (me rural + low-income + first gen, him first gen + minority race).

These opportunities gave us access to networks and resources but we still had to earn our places & roles.

Seeing these programs disappear is extremely painful.
