In this dune world, silver bees surface to extract sought-after life-giving pollen and nectar and store it safe in the sands for their progeny. To do so they must tunnel deep. Habropoda miserablis, the silver bee aka Pacific dune digger bee.

Just perused the ‘native bees’ section 🧐😆🥲 Perdita minimum ? the southeastern blueberry bee, Habpropoda, is laborious ? Hey if they spell Otorhinolaryngology right, why not a couple bee names? I hope the authors and editors got the Ear Nose Throat (ENT) stuff correct

See:
Trophic cascades across ecosystems by Tiffany M. Knight et al. (2005), Nature 437(7060):880-3

The ecosystem is a vital, delicate, synergistic, interconnected food web with opportunities for nuanced resiliency, not a simple survival of the fittest predation pyramid.

Bee in lake of blue: makes me think of how fish help pollination. Imagine fish eating dragonfly larvae = less adult dragonflies = less bee predation = more bees foraging on plants nearby = greater seed set. 😀 From any angle, or as an angler, thank synergy ! See comment below !

I could definitely do more for people connecting native plants and native bees. I am a field botanist by experience and training - that work blossomed into being open to bees 🌸🐝😃

Thanks Pandra ! (there are a few bee poems in there too) I love sharing and “conducting” outreach on important elements and processes - SO much success for native bees and native plants when considered together (and also when people respect Native Peoples with thoughts words and actions) !
