No, we should not allow billionaires to secretly buy northern California farmland to build an instant city for 50,000 people without revealing detailed plans about where they will get resources like water, energy, labor, and transit access. Here's why. www.newscientist.com/article/mg26...

When you disassociate at work
So this lawsuit that former employees filed against Twitter last week regarding not paying rent and ignoring building codes has some CRAZY stories. I tried to highlight the craziest ones in this article

I researched and wrote this article that goes into the details of privacy on here. It's written with non-software-engineers in mind and I use as little jargon as possible.
US states and various countries are beginning to pass laws that require verifying user’s ages. The problem is that this is a privacy nightmare.
People have been complaining for years about trackers and targeted ads but having to upload your ID to random websites has gotten nary a peep.

Like, yes raise minimum wage for sure. Just don’t really see what the drama is that the article is unveiling, seems like clickbait basically imo
Sure! I agree with that. Just doesn’t seem to me like this article is revealing anything particularly new or bad (relative to any other company).
1. They do manual data labelling (we knew that)
2. They pay like fast food wages (for work that’s presumably easier
& safer than food service)
Not to be a buzzkill
Mm I don’t really think this is much of anything. They never tried to hide that humans label their data, that’s how you improve the model and all that. Also the one person they spoke to is earning 2x min wage in their location.
