The block tab will always be more accurate since it's tailored to each profile and includes all records.

There are a couple of reasons why the homepage shows a different number.

1. The homepage only counts distinct DIDs. So if a profile creates 100 records blocking XYZ it will only count it once.
2. The homepage is a simple aggregation of all block records....

Right now the intention is for it to be a broad scope. The reason is to avoid issues of "Why is my account on the list but not that account". The future solution is to also create more specific lists for nudity, porn, gore, etc to better target different content.

The list is built on a combination of self-labels (from author) and Bluesky Moderation labels. As of this moment there have been 0 people who were added incorrectly due to my code. The only exception is that sometimes people are added to the list due to incorrectly labeling their content as NSFW.

This is only a tool. How end users apply it can vary.

The reason is a lack of proper labeling. A high percentage of people do not label their content correctly. That being said this list can be used both to exclude accounts from your feeds or create a feed of only NSFW content. It all depends on the end users application.
