Drilling will not make us energy independent! We have plenty of oil, they pump plenty of oil but if that mattered the cost of our gas wouldn't skyrocket because of some waterway on the otherside of the planet.

"Drill baby drill" is a really dumb concept.

It doesn't benefit American citizens since we don't own the oil.

Corporations own the oil and it's sold on the global market. It doesn't matter how much we drill in America. The corporations make bank and we still pay market prices at the pump.

Thats not where those subsidies end when you consider the costs of the pollution on our health and the environment.

That's what our elected leaders have done.

They chose big business interests over taking care of those Americans that needed it the most. Business interests over protecting our natural resources. Over protecting our children's future.

The oil produced in the US belongs to multi national corporations and it's sold in a global marketplace.

So even though the oil we use doesn't travel through Hormuz it's 100% impacted by global supply disruptions.
