Democracy Sausage A real-time crowd-sourced map of sausage and cake availability at Australian elections. It's practically part of the Australian Constitution. Or something. #demsausage

It’s a national institution in Australia…look it up!

Two bar charts showing the change in vote on a two party preferred basis, and then vote to and away major parties

Adding a new swing bar to our election results page - for the first time, we'll be showing the primary swing to and away from major parties vs minor parties and independents. Here's how it looks using 2022 results for testing - should be an interesting one to watch tonight! #AusPol #AustraliaVotes

Today the Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers published their position paper on 'Pedagogy in Mathematics'.

Thanks to #AAMT for being a reasoned and balanced voice in maths education. Proud to play a role in bringing this to life.

"compass alignment" meme with familiarity and enthusiasm as axes.

The intake survey for my Fourier analysis students asks them to plot their familiarity with the complex exponential function on these axes.

I just think EVERYONE should know that math can actually be VERY SILLY and FUN and we have been PURPOSEFULLY DENIED an avenue of JOY bc wealthy white men with zero going for them need to feel like gods.

Naarm Melb folks - if it's too hot to stay home check with your local Council. I see on Facebook Moonee Valley are opening a couple of libraries which are usually closed on Sundays as cool spaces. Other Councils will be too. 🥵

Raina MacIntyre @Globalbiosec
Was in hospital just b4 Xmas for 10 days. Wore mask. No staff masked, despite rising covid in Sydney. One day I saw staff were suddenly masked..asked why. Was told there was covid on ward. No other patients told or protected. I had masked from day 1 and used antiviral nasal sprays, and got out without infection. The day I was discharged, the outbreak was spreading, and finally they began testing all patients. Shocking lack of rights for patients. No right to safe healthcare, because covid is ignored as a preventable nosocomial infection. Going to hospital has become a gamble on personal safety.

Patients are not second class citizens and are objectively at more risk than staff statistically speaking .

This is not okay.

Classic shifting of the focus away from the institution having to address the problem environment in a meaningful way. Practically institutional gaslighting.

In Iceland, on Christmas Eve, people give each other books so they can spend the evening drinking cocoa & reading. It’s called, Jolabokaflod, the Christmas book flood. I’ve never been more in love with Iceland than I am right now ♥️♥️
