The hollowing out of public postsecondary education: What do we have to lose? - CCPA Is post-secondary education in Canada a pipeline to train students for jobs or a source of critical perspectives essential to a healthy society?

2,200 nursing home workers at 22 sites in NS are on strike. Some of the longest strikes in Canadian history have been in LTC -- and that means that low-paid workers have struggled mightily for fair wages and better living conditions and care for residents. I stand with CUPE-NS.

Provinces across Canada are investing in post-secondary education. Ontario. Saskatchewan. Meanwhile, Newfoundland and Labrador’s only university faces cuts, fewer courses, and larger classes. The NL budget is coming. This government has a clear choice to make. #WeAreMUN

Nova Scotia is planning millions of dollars in cuts that would be devastating to students.

48% of Canadian students report struggling with the cost of tuition. In Nova Scotia, that jumps to 66%.

Federal grants are also on the chopping block.

Student support should be increasing, not decreasing.

This was an extremely engaging and informative town hall.

Appreciate the willingness to pivot to an online space in face of the extreme winter weather conditions.
