and Budapest and Islamabad

People in the Budapest Metro, Hungary, shouting: “Russians, go home!”
Yes! Some light at the end of one tunnel at least- fingers crossed now for other countries - a democratic domino effect
This is exactly why Hungary’s elections matter so much - and they show that illiberal democracy can be reversed
"I have more than 800 online accounts, but I know exactly one password: the key to my password manager."
Password managers may seem intimidating, but a few strategies can help make them a habit and make your digital life much more secure.
People will be closely studying how Hungary's opposition pulled off their win in such a pro-incumbent system. Important to note that the theme was corruption. Democrats need to get much better at calling out Trump's corruption.
I think they were also chanting 'Russians go home'...
Trump said Vance would get the blame if no deal in Islamabad, and if he did get a deal, he, Trump, would take the credit. And Hungary has also woken up despite Vance's visit.... not a great celebratory evening in the Vance household I guess....

So much for turning the Iranian population against their government.

I think Tuesday we get to find out whether the chairman of the joint chiefs, the CENTCOM commander and others are willing to carry out illegal orders.
BOOK NEWS! It’s a true story of wartime fake news, with secret radio stations, huge political rows, intrigue and scandal. It’s also a serious look at the risks you run when you create deliberate lies. My first non-fiction book, BELIEVABLE LIES is out in June.
Thanks for the tip!
It would be useful if the NYT explicitly stated that the pilot, if captured, would be a POW, that there are laws governing how POWs can be treated, that respect for international law on war shapes how the enemy approaches it, and this is why the US conduct of this illegal war has been so dangerous.
Indeed.
Let's hope the psychological power of nato isn't now a busted flush....
Don't give him any more ideas!
'Ice Cream Man.' In July 1911, after an artistic epiphany on honeymoon in Concarneau, Brittany and a chance meeting with the Irish artist, Roderic O'Conor, Alfred Wolmark embarked on the pioneering 'colourist' path that he followed for the next two decades of his working life.
The whole Iran war is looking more and more like a gimmick to drop energy sanctions on Russia and pressure Europeans to do the same. A war to make Russia’s much larger war easier and possible to sustain.
Happy April fool - nice try!
Treating war as a video game not only degrades trustworthiness of information from the government, it’s morally wrong because it trivializes the risks our forces are experiencing.
Meanwhile, for listings of local history societies in the UK, @balhnews.bsky.social has this helpful guide: www.balh.org.uk/societies-az #Skystorians
Kori- what is to be done? What can we do from Uk? Counting to 10 before opening one's mouth won't start to do the job...
Agree.
+ Flags a pretty bad idea
Meanwhile Starmer shd have resigned immediately when the files dropped. Matter of principle, acknowledging his poor judgement over Mandelson. Now, postponing the agony will increase the collateral damage for country at home and overseas. He should think, not just listen to others.

Life is more complicated than US =good, the Others =bad.
A101 international relations.
Very clear succinct and hard hitting- from a US insider
'Coastal Defences.' Eric Ravilious painted this work in Newhaven, East Sussex in 1940; as a coastal town it was heavily fortified because of its targeting as part of Operation Sea Lion, the planned invasion of Britain by German forces.
